I get he’s not the piece that’s going to put us over the top. I just don’t want multi-year disasters signed today. I’m not sure we could spend all of next years space if we tried.

I hated simmonds on the flyers. Not impressed. Good its only for 1 yaer, but a waste of money in my opinion.

I don't love and don't hate it but can see why Ray did it. The average age of the forwards would've been around 22-23, they are more than fine letting their young guys develop in Binghamton. Its a one year deal, worst case scenario you trade him at deadline; he provides a little protection for the kids and a big body we needed

low risk, potential decent reward and only 1 year. I dont see any issue with it or why people would complain. He brings elements we need in a decent net front presence on the PP and a physical aspect to protect our kids. Maybe a tad pricey, sure, but that money means absolutely nothing to us this season and its off the books after that. He's essentially betting on himself to have a bounce back year, so he'll be motivated to play well. I dont love it but theres no reason at all to dislike it

Totally hypothetical (and a little out of the box) but does anyone see value in offering Lehner a 1 year deal at $8-10M/year to ensure we have good goaltending for this season? Corey can back-up and continue to find his game.

We have a pretty decent roster and I would hate to have a throw away this season because of bad goaltending

PS- I’m sure Lehner wants more term but if he’s successful again this year (like last year) he can command big dollars and much longer term

Simmonds doesn't put us ahead in any way. He's slowing down.. he managed 3 points in 17 games with Nashville last year... 3 points. 5 mil for a guy that's slowing down, that's dirty, that's slowing down.. and that's slowing down. We took a wait and see approach last off season and we all saw how that worked out. I get that we don't want to overspend on UFAs but man, it would have been nice to snag a top six winger. Everyone keeps penciling Bratt and Jesper Boqvist into the top 6 but that is far from a lock.

because we've done so much good this offseason. we got lucky and landed the top prospect. we swung and landed a great top-pair dman. We have optimism in the development of Boqvist, Zacha, Butcher, SMITH. We have a healthy Hall and Palmieri.

and now we throw mud on the shiny car.. quicksand on the speedway.. we add a guy that can't skate to a team predicated on being, what was it? something like "attacking, relentless, fast".. i forget the quote. Is he even a good character guy? cuz on the ice he seems like a perpetual idiot.
