Im not sure of the contract situations but if it where to affect who we send down and who would need to be exposed to waivers then why bother ? We are all in agreement that we arent contending next year so why do the Devils need to add this guy ? There are 30 other teams in the league that he would be an upgrade over at least one player so let them get the bargain of the century and let us continue to grow and develop guys we have invested draft picks in.

But you are obviously someone who likes to make moves just for the sake of making them... We desperately need to make more moves but we should be looking to better players that are younger more skilled and have some term. We are not searching for that final piece so we have the luxery of waiting for the right move not whatever comes first.

Subban with be 34 when is deal is up and although im sure he will provide quality play during it I could care less if hes brought back at the end of the 3 years and honestly im not pumped about being the team that has to pay a ton for all of Halls + 30 years when we have two first over all picks that are 18 and 20 that should be the focus of who we build around not Hall and Subban who both will be tailing off once Nico and Jack are 24 to 26 and you would want us to be locked into deals with whoever just because the cost to acquire was cheap.

I'm not arguing but every successful team needs to have a mix of players. Nico and Hughes are just too young right now to be the core. I actually think we are a pretty good blend with Hall and Palms in the top 6. I'd like one more established player because Hughes next to Boqvist scares me. On D Greene is unfortunately pretty done after this year but I like how this team is starting to set up.
