I agree and I think Subban brings some nasty and wont be pushed around.

I mentioned it before that I would love to see Reaves added knowing he is an upgrade on Gabriel and we wont necessarily be competing right away so it wont hurt to dress a guy like that for a year or two till some of the lighter players have confidence doing what they do.

I would also love Tuch and Cernak but I doubt Tampa would move him with him being cheap talent apposed to the expensive talent they will look to out first ( Miller )

Keep trying lol. I don't see the crime in "would you rather" with trouba vs subban. It's just as obnoxious for people to lose their minds over it, or simple observations about a player's size. Idk why thoughts can't be voiced and discussed. This is a discussion board after all. People get all worked up over sports banter lol.

I'm game for Vats to stay in his right side and us actually have 3 pairs with a good- all-star level player. Greene, Smith, Butcher on the left side with Subban, Vatanen, Severson on the right. Sign Carrick and keep Mueller for depth. That's a good defense right there. It's not epic, but.good. I expect Smith to take over that top left spot by the end of the season.

Up front, I think Ray adds a top 6 winger, either by trading Vats of signing a Nyqvist. That'll fix the 2nd line wing conundrum and give Hughes something to work with. I like Bratt, and I like Coleman, but if we're going to compete, and expect injuries, I want to add 1 more guy so both of those players, or a Zacha, don't have to be forced into that spot if it just isn't the best chemistry. I think we're all praying Zacha can mature into that 2nd LW spot, putting Wood next to Zajac on the 3rd line, but an actual shutdown line of Zacha-Zajac-Coleman would be awesome, if we even bother with matching line s when having 2nd change. Could give us an advantage at home and further free up our top 2 lines.

I would trade for Subban over trouba at the present moment. In a few years trouba would be the better option. I just think Subban currently has better intangibles. Also what he does off the rink for the community is an added bonus. Plus trouba is a wussy and only wanted nyc.

Plus we still got to see what the Rangers will be on the hook for when they finally agree to a contract.

Trouba is great but at 8 million for 8 years its a lot harder to say. Obviously PK has reached higher heights and still might be capable of getting back to those so im not as concerned with the final years of his deal with all you know you will be getting even if the play drops off a little and again its only 3 years and we have tons of cap.

Im actually pretty pumped to have such an exciting player who can fire the crowd and team up with a big shot, hit or celly.

Its been since Kovy has left that we pretty much havent had a consistent threat on the back end for the pp.

Just for the record. I’m thrilled to get P.K. but Trouba was the better option long term for this team. But it’s done and you can’t always control these things. Just thankful we have a respectable looking D.
