Thx carol! I don’t like the pick at all. Boldy was the play. At the end of the day my heart was set on Zegras and I’m frustrated they wouldn’t offer pick 40 to move up and grab their guy. The Canucks were very dejected when zegras was selected. There was zero enthusiasm about Podkolzin. Why not gamble and get your guy?

Either way, I wish Podkolzin the best and i hope I look like an idiot in two years

See Don's post above this, Zegras was the dream, Boldy was the target.

Why break trend 😜, no seriously most of us have been disappointed only to have been proven wrong so I’ll just wait and hope I’m surprised once again

When I spoke to Zegras on Thursday, he said he expected to go between 3-7, so he was probably disappointed to still be available at 9, too. If that's who the Canucks were after, they probably did come thisclose to having another player fall into their laps.

Probably could have traded back with Arizona to 14 and still gotten Polzy

Who knows. He was a wildcard. I bet some teams were high on him and some probably wanted nothing to do with him because of his contract situation in Russia. Some GM's don't want to potentially deal with another Kirill Karpizov situation.

Its too bad that Zegras didnt drop to us, but I really think we got a steal with Vasily still. Just wait, in 2 years hes gonna step into a more mature and established team and system and im saying right now lots of people are gonna be surprised. I think his drive to be a dominant player will benefit this team immensely one day. We have a legit top 6 scoring winger now... Kinda -_-.

Thanks, Carol.

Meh, as Carol noted, it's really no different than the players committed to US College. Newhook will likely play at least two years at BC. Didn't Boeser play two years? Fox - three years, Veesey etc. Risks with every selection.

Yup. The Canucks see something so they were right to grab him. He could have gone at 11. They took their BPA and as fans all we can do is trust the process

Smart lady, you should lock that down.

I wanted Turkey, Zegey or Boldy, but I'm content that the JB's know what they're doing.

Boldy is the only player I regret they passed on for Podz. Boldy was passed again after us,,, Krebs and Newhook at 16/17...goes to show you the lists are all over the place.

This may end up being a big steal at 10. Kid looked pumped to be picked by Van even though he slipped. Usually... our picks need to force a smile when they are selected. Hopefully his agent doesnt poison him.

Yeah, but Karpizov extended his contract over there, but it sounds like "V-Pod" is focused on the NHL in the future

Thanks for the coverage Carol,
Have to say from listening to the interview, he sounds like a man-child. Kind of reminds me when St. Louis drafted Tarasenko who was built like a tank in his draft year.
