Table is set for the devils to have an excellent draft. 5 or 6 picks in first 3 rounds.

Rooney and the 3rd round pick from Dallas for Puljujarvi.

If Chicago, Colorado, or the Kings are in the position to draft Bowen Byran I would trade Boqvist, Butcher, and the Devils' 2nd round pick. I think that kid has Drew Doughty level talent.

Yeah, it might not be enough for Chicago's taste so maybe throw in Anderson, Studenic, Zetterlund, or Talvitie.

If Colorado is in position to draft Byran, probably replace Butcher with Zacha or McLeod.

LA, they would probably take the Boqvist, Butcher, and a 2nd rounder trade.

Saw on TSN.ca this morning that they thinkEdmonton is looking for a second round pick for Puljajrvi. Not sure how accurate, but I would be glad to give them a 2nd for him.

The comments online about the pick are mind numbing. Someone actually said Kakko is better because he has "elite speed" and it got 50 likes.

If this is what it is, you have to wonder why nobody has pulled the trigger yet.

We have the 34th, 55th and 61st picks in the second round.

Probably no real difference between the 55th and 61st. The 34th is obviously a much sweeter pick.

THE REAL QUESTION FOR TODAY - What round is Ray Ray picking a goalie?

I'll say 2nd round. If Spencer Knight makes it thru the first Ray Ray will lose his poop.

Knight will be taken a lot sooner I think. Depends on how much confidence they have in Blackwood. If they are shaky on him I'd def look into drafting Knight. But if Blackwood is the guy, he is young enough I think where we dont need to look at drafting a goalie for a bit.

Im super stoked!

MAKE BELIEVE GM FOR A DAY

Guys I wouldn't mind outside the 1st

ROUND 2
Jakob Pelletier (not likely) but some are starting to say he will go in the 2nd
Ryan Suzuki (not that big on him, but some are saying he might drop to the 2nd)
Nicholas Robertson
Anttoni Honka (I'm not really that high on him anymore, but if we take him I'm not sad either)
Nils Hoglander (Yes Todd, I would be over the moon)
Samuel Fagemo (better stats than Bratt and Nylander, cartwheels if we could get him in the 2nd)

ROUND 3
Jordan Spence
Antti Tuomisto (For you guys who love size)

ROUND 4-5
Martin Hugo Has
Kristian Tanus
Dmitri Sheshin
Ivan Drozdov
Jayden Struble
Domenick Fensore (I have a good feeling about this kid, its no loss this far down the draft)

ROUND 6
Yevgeni Oksentyuk

These are the guys im kind of hoping for but wont be upset if guys are gone or picks are moved.
Matthew Robertson
Tobias Bjornfot
Alex Vlasic
Brayden Tracey
Egor Afanasyev
Vladislav Firstov
Albin Grewe
Robert Mastrosimone
Samual Fagemo
Mads Sogaard
Maxim Cajkovic
Also no one seems to be putting any stock into the fact that almost every one to a t from gm to coach to players said we need to be a harder team to play against and often times you guys are trying to make us softer by trading Wood or picking guys that have no battle or push back. I would really look at Vegas and Tuch but i honestly would not be shocked if we took on Reaves contract if we select Hughes as i hope we arent going to let him go out there with no one on the bench and hooe the opposition will be kind enough to not take any shots at him.

Also I think if the russian drops as far as 15 I would try and make a move. I am not apposed to take knight if he is there at 34 although i think we are set at goalie I do kinda believe if Knight makes it there he is bpa for sure.

If we draft a russian and he decides to sign a contract in KHL, we cant get him until that contract expires. He could be in Russia for 10 yrs when he decided I'll give the NHL a chance.

I would stay clear of any russian.

I think thats a nice spot to take a gamble on a top 5 talent. You could also do nothing and still never see players drafted at 34 and 55 so its a risk i would take if he falls that far.
Also this isnt a no heart forget about defense russian this kid is being called a pitbull im not worried about a lot of things I typically would be with this kid when drafting a russian ( outside rhe 2 year wait for his contract to be up ) besides we have enough picks and its not like you can say well we took this risky pick last year and this risky pick the year before as we literally dont take risks when drafting ( Zacha was a pretty safe pick so was Mcleod ).
We arent in the stages anymore of having no prospects were we cant afford to miss on any so when would be a good time to take a chance on a good player ?

Illegal Aliens or Space Aliens?

Either way, yes... Just the reaction is a little different when they show up.

Or is it?

Not as in he plays defense but as in he isnt all offense lazy backchecking type. Im talking about Vasili Podkolzin.
All im really saying is if he starts really dropping then there would become a point in which I would be incline to take a bit of risk. Now if I had the 5th pick I wouldnt make this risk.

I just couldnt see myself complaing if we walked out of the draft with Hughes and Podkolzin.

I am also pretty interested in Jesse Puljujarvi depending on the price. 6'4 is massive in todays game and he has a big shot and can skate. My only worry there is if the rumored ask is so cheap and no ones bit is it because a) teams are waiting to see whos still left before trading 2nds or is it because he is a lot farther off then us fans seem to think and he has no interest?

I'd be so happy if Shero with the last pick gets a kid that is super aggressive, borderline violent with his hits.

The thing that bothered me most this season was the testosterone on the team was certainly lacking.

We got a group of nice guys or good guys but when you watch each and everyone of them outside of Gabriel post whistle standing around the net they are always letting guys stand right over our goalie like what is that ?? To me thats like a dog marking its territory and we let other teams do it on a nightly basis.

You look at the other end post whistle and our guys are skating away from the other teams goalie as fast as possible and to me its a clear sign of weakness. To me you dont let guys skate up to youre goalie stop and stand over him. I dont give a poop really if the other team doesnt make contact you cant allow that and then turn around and get pushed out at the other end.

To me thats a sign of being dominated and its gotta stop. There is no one on the back end outside of Carrick that has any snarl to them.

That was another thing i really noticed was no love for carrick im really curious why i watched every game he played in for us and i cant remember being anything but impressed he was physical he might of even got in a scrap and also he got pucks on net which to me was huge.
