If the prime directive was to get the call right why do I see officials avoiding looking at a replay that would achieve that goal.

The prime directive for officials is don’t admit any mistakes or show any weakness.

A third official in a video booth with a buzzer is just the start of the changes needed to hockey officiating.

Refs were absolutely terrible in the playoffs. Blues alone vs Sharks and the blatant hand pass goal then the blatant trip by Bozak leading to a goal in the finals. Call the game correct. 2 horribly missed calls. What are they watching besides the game?

You are doing a grave injustice to how awful the refs have been by narrowing it down to just 2 plays in the last playoffs.

It has been every game and it has been for years.
