From the previous blog. I think it would be a mistake to draft Broberg at 8 without looking into moving down.

Boldy at 8 is fine with me.

Yeah Broberg is okay, fast but he doesn't offer much defensively or offensively. Those are easier to train than skating ability at this age but still, big gamble at 8th. Trading down in a scenario that lets them draft Broberg or Lavoie is good but only if they trade down. Still there are players like Newhook (arguably the fastest in the draft) and Knight (maybe the best goalie prospect since Fleury) that would need looking at, even with the Oilers having a decent goalie prospect already.

Boldy might be the worst of the US players in the draft. Zegras is WAY better. Boldy only looked good because he often played with Turcotte and Caufield.

Looks good except swap Dach and Caufield. Kings won't pass on Dach or Cozens.

Sabres are drafting Zegras if he is available at 7.

Don’t care who we pick.

I'd be very disappointed if they were to draft Broberg that high. I don't think I even consider him the 2nd best Dman in the draft.

Now that the Jets are in the market for a dman I wonder if they would move Ehlers for Pulju, Russell and a 2nd rounder.

That precious 20th of theirs. Had to make the dumbest trade this season to get it back.

It makes no sense and Broberg at 8th is too high....if they are going to draft him they could easily trade down and still get him.....seems Edmonton media are also picking us to get Broberg at 8th so where there is smoke perhaps? If they do draft Broberg I wouldn’t be surprised to see a LHD moved

But they don't anymore. They got that for Trouba because he forced their hand and reportedly only gave them a couple teams he would sign with. Ehlers is neither asking out nor limiting their options. Remember how after the Hall trade we got bombarded with "haha, Gardiner 4 McDavid"? Well, as with those idiots back then, it's dumb to impose the result of one trade a team makes on every future trade.

They have 25mil to sign Connor, Laine and Copp and add a one or two top-4 D- depending on how they feel about Pionk as a 2RD.

Trouba certainly wasn’t making it easy for them that’s for sure but after years of trade talk I imagine they wanted to get it over with so they can work on their other FAs
