That's more on Kadri, he faced lesser competition, he really should have been able to put together a great season.

The Leafs finishng with less points had nothing to do with JT, he was a solid signing and his play verified that. He solidifies the C position (probably the most important position) for the next 5 years, now it's on Dubas to put the other pieces together.

considering maata is on marincin level, he is at 4mln aav, and kahun is actually a very decent 2nd/3rd liner - it's obvious why leafs didnt go after maata.
zaitsev is much much better than maata, and most on here are advocating to trade him away - 0 sense to add a 3rd line d at 4mln.
i really suggest you start watching some hockey outside of leafs & marlies.
(same for the people that made comments about hintz and faksa not being proper value for kadri and johnsson - if you have never sen other teams' players in action, no sense in commenting on how good/bad they are).

i know exactly what player i am talking about, just wasnt 100% sure it was hintz or heintz, and couldnt be bothered to look it up.
in addition, i have liked faksa since hus draft year - i remember him and landeskog as two players that i would have liked leafs to draft in consecutive years, both playing on kitchener rangers.
faksa is better suited as a 3rd line c and although kadri is better - faksa comes at half the caphit and actually kills penalties; much better player for that #3 c position.
kadri if not on top2 fw lines should be traded, and i like kadri a lot.

Realistically you wont see all that many. 2 or 3 trades. Some small ufa signings. Take care of rfas. I really doubt you see a big splash short of shedding salary.
