John Beecher?
Huh ... Seems like there was some more prolific scoring talent available at 30 that fell.
Don’t hate the pick, just seems like they passed on a few guys who were ranked much higher with more potential upside?
Bruins are going to be rolling out the four best 3rd lines in the NHL in a few years |

Deal is Steve Santini, Jeremy Davis, 2nd round pick in this year’s draft (#34) and 2nd round pick in 2020 for PK Subban.
Marleau to Canes in a salary dump; had to give up a first round pick to do it. Backes won't be easy to get rid of at that price |

Yeah, he’s going nowhere sadly if that’s the price. Have to hope that one of the kids really steps up this season.
Lots of dead cap space next season:
Backes - $6M
Beleskey - $1.9M
Seidenberg - $1.17
$9M in dead space. 11% of the salary cap. Well done, GM of the year |

Anyone know anything about any of the guys we drafted? Seems Donny dipped into the 2nd round to get his man again instead of drafting more-proven guys who were still on the board with more potential upside.
Did some reading on the Beecher kid ... Don’t hate the pick but seems like he’s a project ... At least 3 years from going pro unless his game grows by leaps and bounds. |

Kampfer resigned for 2 years/1.6 million total.
Gotta assume that means Miller or Moore are on their way out. |

$800K per season, pretty sure it’s just a depth move for a capable D-man and Kampfer won’t displace any of the regulars. Guy has shown he can hold it down in the press box for long stretches then return and not really miss a beat. I’d rather it be Kampfer up there than a prospect who should be getting ice time.
As long as this is the case, I’m fine with the move. If he’s going to get a regular role or be a roadblock for prospects who are deserving of a chance, then that’s a different story ... |

Don't mind him but $800K per year to sit on his unless it's a 2 way contract or his salary can be buried in Providence? On the right side there is Chuck/Carlo/Miller/Clifton...left side is Krug/Z/Gryzz/Moore and maybe Vaak/Lauzon..dunno...Moore is gone for a bit with injury
Like Miller but not sure who would take on a $2.5 mill contract for a injury riddled guy. Moore is ok priced unless packaged off for RW 2nd line scorer...will see I guess |

Kampfer can also be one of the guys they expose and leave unprotected in the expansion draft ...

#NHLBruins GM Don Sweeney in his pre-free agency presser:
“We’re having conversations, gauging interest. We’ve been at it with our RFAs...we’ll be adding players for sure on July 1.”
Seems he has some stuff lined up already |

Puljujarvi being mentioned ... Don’t hate it at all. Low cost, potentially highly rewarding player. Grossly mismanaged in Edmonton. Wants out apparently.
Please no Simmonds, Perry, Marleau, guys like that... |

Living in Edmonton I hear a lot of Oilers speculation. They want local boy DeBrusk back which is insane despite Puljujarvi' potential offensive upside being greater in most people's opinions.
I could live with Krug for JP and a draft pick or decent prospect.
Somehow the Oilers are in cap trouble despite being a tire fire or I'd hope Sweenius would try to package Backes in to make it happen. God knows they love Bruins cast away's.

Now there are reports they want Connolly too. |

Furthermore JP is a methodical type player. Big body with good wheels for his size. Might be the type of guy who would mesh well with Krejci and Jake.

Aggressive market interest in Bruins forward Marcus Johansson. 10+ teams have checked in. Has to be looking forward to a raise on the $4.6 million he made this season.
I think he is gone |

if they trade Krug then its a salary dump on his potential next contract which may have a real long term. No one on the Bruins can put up the PP prowess like he can..not Chuck yet...

I've seen enough of him out west. A team with McDavid and Nugent-H and he cant get it going? Its more than coaching with this kid. Who knows, maybe a change of scenery will do him good |

Cant we package Krug and Backes to some team needing to hit the floor. Cap space heaven!!!!
