I agree with all of what you guys are saying, but it’s all null and void if he gets a new contract this summer as I suspect. That’s what i fully expect based on what ive seen. That being said, what an owner actually wants/does seems a one of the most ambiguous things to judge.

Tough to do Don, Gudbranson is gone, Pouliot is gone, Edler is a ufa, so that leaves Tanev, Stecher, Biega, Hutton, so by this list Stecher is a 5 dressed up as a two

It is very tough to do seeing we don't know what it will look like in September.

I think all along Benning knew what he was doing last year and this year. He knew Hutton Edler Tanev Pouliot Biega and Gudbrandson would all be coming off the books soon.

This was the year for change IMO. Last year was a one more year and we can upgrade next year season.

I won't convince anyone and everyone will think it was just another terrible year but he knew he had Woo Hughes Juolevi in the waiting. I think by the end of 2020 the Canucks D won't resemble anything like last year. I even think Stecher is just a stop gap.

I think Hutton is gone this year and probably Biega and Tanev and Edler and Stecher have two years left.

I agree with that. I also think that Benning is on thin ice. Even more so with the departure of Linden. I do believe he gets this season for one last showing. We will see but he has lots of moves to make and it has to happen soon.

Hughes is gonna be an offensive gem. It's a great start just need to surround him with the right Dmen. We can't just stack the D with 6 big meatballs and expect to get offence. Krug works in Boston surrounded by some big D...we'll do something similar once Edler and Tanev are gone. Then we have to work on getting rid of Hutton lol

I am really not too worried about what Benning does at the draft. I am concerned with how he handles free agency and a couple bad contracts we have. If he fails with them he needs to be fired.
