Seabrook for Luongo straight up. Hawks get 2.3M in cap relief and a contract that's 2 years shorter. Luongo can back up Crawford this year and Delia/Lankinen the following season. Or maybe he'll retire before than.
- boilermaker100

Dale will have to land Bobrovsky before that to happen, Reimer makes Cam Ward look like a hall of famer, and there is no stud goalie ready in the system either.

Most of these players havn'r played in weeks yet they are moving all over the place in the draft lists. Caufield and Byram seem to have risen the most while Cozens and Turcoote seem to be dropping. Did the combine cause this or are the people rating them trying to place them where they think they'll wind up instead of rating the actual player?
- paulr

My guess? Some of it the combine. Some of it is the interview process and maybe looking at the medicals. Some of it is teams reviewing tape with an even more critical eye. Since scouts are generally assigned regions, maybe at this point there is a lot of cross referencing going on and other scouts are picking up on things.

I did mean guess. I am assuming this is how the process works because its how I would handle it.

Thought of him as well.

Victor Hedman is still my number one choice.

Matthew Tkachuk and Kyle Connor would look great on this team, as would Mark Stone.

- TommyHawk

Or Hedman yes. Parayko reminds me a little of Pronger.

Hawks don't need anymore bottom pairing guys who get caved in. He is flat out terrible.

Maybe itā€™s so the talking heads have something to talk about when player x goes 3rd overall when he was ā€œfallingā€ on draft boards.

Why do I keep hearing Gardiner as a done deal .Makes no sense .Maybe some players really play better after they get out of TO ,but still bad back on top of everything else ..

I think Cozens has the biggest ā€œbust factorā€ among the Centres.
- Ogilthorpe2

I say itā€™s Dach or Zegras.

Some solace for Darth Kane: your boy will be playing clos to home if this were to happen

I can't see Cozens being a bust, I think he will either be a star or a just a guy but I think his game, speed, size, shot, defense and work ethic is perfect for the NHL it's just a question of what his ceiling is.
- paulr

If heā€™s taken at 3rd overall, and is ā€œjust a guyā€ thatā€™s a bust IMO.

Where did you hear or read this?

I'd think Gardiner would lean more to Minnesota if given a choice since that's where he is from.

I donā€™t think heā€™ll be just a guy, but heck who really knows:

Wiz:

Pierre McGuire was quoted as saying Chicago or Minnesota and the beat writer for Minnesota, Russo, said Chicago.

NHL and MLB drafts are crazy.....these aren't really household names (sorry Canada but the main population here doesn't follow junior hockey) so again......unless X player is ready to play ASAP in the NHL.....they just fall into a stock pile of players and then it's up to see how they develop in juniors or college or overseas and if THEY will sign when they are ready to look at AHL or NHL seasons...ā€¦

I get the love for the draft....but the main question is do the Hawks have the right people in place in the development stage (AHL) to maximize these kids? Obviously they have little to no control over their juniors/college or European play but in Rockford they do...ā€¦.

That last part I'll defer to somebody who knows the Rockford structure very well.....

(frank) the Blues.
(frank) the Bruins.

I refuse to watch tonight to see which team of D-bags wins the big prize.

As I said to Elbows, I used the wrong term. I think he'll be a star or a secondary type guy like Sharp. He has all the tools to be a two way scorer, he hasn't shown he has the playmaking ability and if he doesn't have that I think that's what holds him back from being a star player.

Lesser of two evils for me......Blues is who I am pulling for.

F boston. F Marchand. F chara. F Rask. City thinks they walk on water......plus I'd love to see barstool melt down tonight.

I know the Blues are some sort of rival and have a few d bags, but these aren't the Backes, ott, Hitchcock blues of a few years ago......plus I travel to STL so it would put my customers in good moods.

IF STl can beat Boston 3 times in their building in the cup final.....that's pretty damn amazing.

I could be dead wrong....but.....

doesn't this team need to go F given that they have 3-4 guys on D you keep hearing about who should be NHL players in some capacity but I don' t hear much about their Fs anymore...ā€¦.and I don't see/read about any elite goaltenders.

I would believe if all things are equal and a F and D men are on the board they want at 3, they go F.

It might not be the Blues of a few years ago, but donā€™t kid yourself, these blues are every bit as cheap and dirty as the Bruins. If the rules didnā€™t change starting with game 83, neither team would have likely made it this far.

My dream scenario for tonightā€™s game 7:

Low scoring game that goes to multiple OTā€™s.
St. Louis wins as a result of yet another egregious officiating error...like the worst call/non-call in the history of professional sports.

That way Marchand/Backes/Chara and all the Boston d-bags donā€™t get to skate around with the cup over their heads, and the Blues, and all of their d-bag minions that I had to spend my college years around, will be forever tormented by their Cup Win having been fraudulent. Plus the whining out of Boston would be music to my ears.

It's the closest thing I can think of to having neither team win.

Wouldnā€™t it be great if St Louis scored twice in 17 seconds to win it and n the 3rd.....
