that is some soft yet powerful flow!! But I like the 18" cuffs on those gloves the most!

Best insight is that goalies are VooDoo!!!
If he dropped to the Flames at 26, many on Flames nation arent keen on drafting a goalie in the first round ever again. Look at Parsons, won the USA junior Gold, was an amazing junior goalie, we took him in the 2nd round & his AHL numbers are really underwhelming. But he's still very young.

The most painful was when we traded up to get Trevor Kidd who was an absolute phenom in junior & sucked at the NHL level. The draft pick we traded to move down Jersey wound up taking Marty Brodeur....ouch....

Goalies are voodoo! The hype machine at these drafts runs overtime.

Hahaha. It's like he was built specifically to play hockey in the 70s.

Great call on the gloves! I didn't even think of it, but so funny

I never knew the Brodeur fact..that's wild!

Your last statement is on par with what I was kind of thinking might be going on. I know Knight is talented, but I'm curious how that will translate to the next level.

What's odd to me is that everything I've read about him doesn't mention any areas of improvement (outside of the generic one mentioned in the article).

Sodergran signed

19yo C 6’3” 205. 6th round pick

Didn’t think he’d sign. Good to have another C in the prospect pool

That list of US goalies is horrifying.* That being said, the 22nd pick falls into the "best available" zone. If Knight is it, then go for it.

*the list in the linked post from Jewels From The Crown.

I wouldn’t mind Knight at the 22 pick.

Just saw that, too.

Can never have too much depth down the middle IMO 👍

*EDIT - my bad, I thought he was a center, but it looks like he’s been playing wing

Good way to look at the 22nd pick, man.

I bet it will be “best available.”

I thought he was a C as well. I’m sure he can play C. Probably played wing in the SHL due to him being a 18 year old kid. Kupari the same thing

Please no goalies in the first round!!!!! Jonathan Bernier anyone? He was going to be the savior, he never made it to #1 on the Kings let alone anywhere else. Martin Jones? Undrafted. Most goalies are 3rd and 4th rounders. They are way to unpredictable in development. Kings top 3 pick MUST be no doubters. Remember when the Kings had 3 first rounders? Yeah, me too. When you have the high picks, they absolutely must pan out or you flounder for years.

Def always a gamble drafting a goalie.

One of the more important drafts of recent years is right around the corner...
