Seems like Dallas Eakins has been the favorite all along and they were just doing their due diligence elsewhere - eichiefs9
I would hire Lane over Dallas Eakins. |

A lot of those guys make sense, some are unrealistic. He's undervaluing Ehlers by a lot.
I have come around on the idea of a trade for Callahan and JT Miller though. Miller is versatile and not unreasonably priced. His weak production with Tampa is probably more due to being buried behind some insanely talented forwards than not. Something like Hickey and a 3rd for Miller/Callahan would be great value for the Isles.
I like the idea of Roslovic, but it'd be tough to pay a lot for him and I'm not really sure what WPG would be asking. |

You could have wrote this piece Chiefs. Nothing really earth shattering. The only thing Staple wrote that you definitely wouldn’t have was “ The Islanders have Tons of Cap space.” |

They do have tons of cap space, but (assuming Lee and Lehner return) it's going to go quick.

Like Ehlers alot and if WPG doesant have enough cap to resign all I wouldnt mind Leddy for Ehlers trade bc both have (I think) same aav
Not a fan of Miller only bc there could be same/cheaper options as FA like MoJo/Zucc etc which would only cost $$$ instead

Ehlers is going to cost a lot more than Leddy and that's assuming that WPG has any interest in Leddy at all. Maybe Leddy lands Roslovic, but again...no idea if WPG really needs a LHD like Leddy. Ehlers is a 23yo stud with a great contract.
Miller is versatile. I never loved him with the Rangers but I think in the right role he's a solid player and I think that role is a 2nd/3rd line guy that can play in all three situations and move all over the lineup. He plays all three forward positions. He also fits the type of player that Lou and Trotz like.
I have no interest in overpaying for a 32yo Zuccarello and, while I like Johnsson, I think he's injury prone and I'd be hesitant to give him a ~4year deal. |

ok here is the point, he isnt being moved because hes locked in and Lee and eberle are not. If they are signed then he could be moved but being that they are already so thin up front they aren't moving him. Unless they move him and hickey for a top 6 guy and let's be fair what are they getting back that will give you that much more than he already offers?
This isn't and I love bailey post the fact is they have to replace Eberle and if they struggle to do so moving bailey for that help means replacing one and losing the other. Lateral move at best, let's hope they land a ufa and trade leddy for top 6 help and then bailey can be moved next year or play on the 3rd line - Upstate_isles

Bailey makes more sense to move if the stars aligned for the Isles and they brought in some scoring on the FA market, and then they needed to clear cap space because of that. Or if they needed to free up cap space after a separate trade.
I think he's definitely movable, but Capt’s also probably right that there wouldn’t be a big return for him. So, trading him for any other reason…you wouldn’t replace his production with whatever was coming back.
But, if they had to clear cap space after a separate move, I don’t think it’d be terrible to sell low on a player like Bailey to accomplish that since he probably wouldn’t bring back much of a haul even at full value anyway. |

My issue is on a team that needs to add scoring it's hard to part with his production the last 3 years. When wahlstrom is ready then see ya josh |
