Habs wont trade you Tatar for Leddy right now

My guess is Bergevin will use Lehkonen, Armia, Juulsen and the two 2nd rounders as bait to try and acquire a D... You mentioned Shaw, he could be a possibility, had a strong season, Habs could be looking to sell high, even though he played a fairly big part in the surprise success the team had. I take a beating on a regular basis in the Habs blog for suggesting Danault could be traded, so that wont be well received, and really I'd rather Danault be part of a bigger package for a D better than Leddy, I wouldn't do it straight up

Don't want Tatar. NYR fans would have too much fun with that and "fishsticks".

Good analysis, Ben. What about the Leafs? They need D, right? Would Leddy be a fit? Which of their forwards are tradeable?

I would rather keep Leddy and see if there was any market for Boychuk if he was willing to be traded. I know the return would likely be less, but I would think Toronto might bite, if we threw in a 3rd or 4th rounder for Kapanen, who they are going to have a hard time signing anyway? We might have to bite on Zaitsev in return, but we could bury him or pawn him off somewhere in a lessor deal.

If Karlson is not signing in SJ, they are in the market for any offensive d. But I still see Leddy as having solid value to the Isles, especially if Trotz has them step up the rush this year. I'm a JB fan but can't count on him for 82 games so depth is still key on d.

This team is going to be something else with Panarin, Duchene, and Bobrovsky next season.

I'm not a fan of trading lady but any team that misses out on EK might get nervous and over pay a little for leddy.

Leddy has a good cap hit. Maybe Garth snow can get Edmonton to do a 1 for 1 leddy for mcdavid

Leddy for Tatar would already be done I think . If I’m Montreal I’m all over that .

Thank you!

Though on the surface the Leafs may look like a good trade partner involving Leddy, I'm not so sure. Toronto is actually fairly strong on the left side with Rielly, Muzzin/Dermott and Calle Rosen who will be up next year, along with Rasmus Sandin in the prospect pool. It's the right side where Toronto is weak and I imagine they'll only really be looking to deal a forward if they can a right-shot D.

Interesting idea, I think Toronto would probably be looking to go younger than Boychuk though, especially if it means giving up Kapanen. With Kapanen, a lower-money bridge deal is pretty likely, so he's probably not the odd man out if they're forced to make a trade. Plus on Zaitsev, reports are suggesting there's actually some interest and they may not have to give up assets to move the contract, which is really surprising to me.

I'd imagine either Pulock or Toews would work. Dobson will likely work into that role once he gets to the NHL.

Why bother explaining that to him? If he doesn't get the reference to the hall for Larson trade that's his own fault
