Yeah only a couple of options I see for trades .. perhaps Sens and take one of their bad contracts or retain 50% ...

The buyout has some major repercussions on the Cap though.

And the Samueli’s have never to my mind bought out a healthy roster player.

A buyout also helps their expansion draft plans.

Funny how the Sens have become everyone’s dumping ground on hockeybuzz.

Make that Lindholm instead of Fowler and the Ducks either retain the maximum 50% on Perry or take Alzner back, their choice... and then maybe!

No way no how is Murray trading Hampus... he’d rather buyout Perry. And retain salary on top of it ... nah we’re good.

Alzner for Perry with 35% retained & Ritchie and you’re talking ..

That Alzner contract is almost worse than Perry’s

So the Habs add over 5 million in salary and 2 3rd line wingers, just to get rid of Alzner? Habs have 3rd line wingers coming out of their ass

That’s pretty funny .. about 3rd line wingers...

Would picks interest Habs ?? Say the Ducks 2nd 1st rounder and early 2nd ...

Just spitballing because I doubt Flames & Ducks do a deal with each other but how about a Frolik & Neal swap for Perry & that 2nd 1st round pick you guys have.
Frolik & Neal would easily slot on your 2nd & 3rd lines.

I've always hated Perry for his dirty game but its funny how they are great guys when they play for your team.

It depends on if Perry is healthy or not I think. All indications are he has healed to the point of being able to play, but if he’s not healthy, I could see him getting traded to TOR and hanging out on Robidas island. We’d maybe take back Zaitzev in the deal and throw them a 2/3 pick. They’d get cap benefits and wouldnt have an issue paying his salary, plus they’d solve Zaitzevs trade request issue.
Just a thought

I know its looks goofy from the Ducks point of view of why would you take on 10 mill cap & still give up that real late 1st when you guys are about to go through a retool.
Frolik could probably be flipped for a Hudler/GlenX type of rental return at the TDL where we had gotten 2nd & 3rd round picks. Neal doesnt have a NMC or NTC where Perry would have to be protected at the expansion draft with his NMC forcing the Flames to have to buy him out next year. I think the deal would make sense for both teams but I just dont think Flames & Ducks being the rivals we are would do such a deal with each other.

Perry gets an unverifiable “skin condition” that no one ever noticed before and goes on LTIR. Boom, problem solved!

I hate this. As much as everyone in hockey hates Perry, I'm not one of them. Being a agitator is a thing that works for some players. And it can help or hurt a team by either drawing calls by pissing off the other team or hurting the team by pissing off the refs. And I'll be honest. It was fun watching Corey pull his antics on rival teams that that I just hated. Kings, Sharks, Oilers, Stars. Many a good time I had watching as Perry spiced things up. And he did it while scoring goals.
Alas he's not what he was. Last year as his knee healed after surgery he started to show signs of that old pest that everbody loved to hate. And maybe that's a good measure of how good he was. He was one of the most players of his generation. And with 2 years left on his contract I hope we can see some of that old fire he had in his twenties. Will it be for the ducks. Looks not likely. Only true hockey fans know the worth he brought. A terror when scoring goals. And pain in the rear when not. I hope he puts together a least one or two more good years whoever's he plays for.

I’d give Mete and Ilonen for Fowler and Perry with 35%-40% salary retained. Either Mete or Petry if we really do go after Karlsson

From another fan of Perry, I'd take him on the Sens on a fair contract, he'd be a great mentor for Tkachuk!!
