It would be pretty hard to pass up Karlsson if you're Montreal and all of a sudden he wants to go there. I worry those injury issues will linger for him, but he's such an amazing talent.
- Tojo.

MTL has such a strong prospect pool but they’re lacking a center. If the difference for Duchene is 500K it would be worth it for them to overpay and continue to roll Weber and Petry as your RHD

Canada Day has always been my favorite day but now knowing some of the guys it’s more challenging. The only guys who really want to leave/move are usually guys being lowballed or want a bigger role. My roommate will cry if certain players move/leave lol

Yohe was just on Madden. Nothing earth-shattering.

Expects Phil to be dealt probably by the draft. Minnesota is not dead because even though it's not a preferred destination, he still probably wants to play there more than Pittsburgh.

Not buying the Malkin rumor.

Pens are happy with their RD, including Gudbranson, so don't expect any changes there.

At least one of Maatta or JJ will go, but thinks it's possible both do.

You know MM, I believe Yohe, adn the other dude on the X were talkign a year ago about JJ and all were stoked the Pens got JJ and thought it was a great move. Everyone here thought otherwise. I really had no clue about him.....just curious how "professionals" in sports writing can be so wrong?

If they could get Duchene, I'd try to make both work. If they move Petry out, they'd be pretty close and with a full roster.

I don't think they can get Duchene though, everyone has been reporting it's either CBJ or Nashville.

I’d hate to see Maatta moved out but it’s seemed inevitable. If JJ is moved out I’d jump for joy, well, depending on the follow-up move that is.

You think signing JJ to a five year contract is the worst thing, but JR can always one-up himself.

If they move both out and replace them quality inexpensive LD’s, I can’t really complain.

Both would be great while moving Petry out. They would have to move out other contracts but they have so many moveable guys. Aside from the Price contract, Bergevin has done some really nice things with that team

Just finished our wood fence today. Looks pretty good. How’s everyone else’s summer chore list going?

Not quite a chore but as the wedding gets closer I keep tinkering with the registry and it’s getting more and more expensive by the day as I say “oh what the (frank) maybe someone will buy this” to some of the more absurd items I’ve been considering and slapping them on it. I think I have $700 worth in hand forged Japanese chef knives and a ~$500 vinyl player rig on there now.

Yeah I hear good things. Quebec and VAN are on my list as well. TOR was kinda meh...just a big city.

We had a family friend that lived down teh street growing up that was a Steeler assistant. They got so much hate mail and the radio/news would talk to much poop....you felt bad. THis was a long time ago.

- sammy87

Toronto is a big souless city. Montreal has this vibe and feel to it, especially in summer.

Also, Montreal is in Quebec. Quebec is a province (like a state in USA). You probably meant Quebec City, I was only there once when I was like 8. No adult experience there.

How do you know hes hoping for offers from there?

Look at McCutchen from hte Pirates. He took a discount to stay with the Pirates. what did it get him? Years on a lousy team and then traded.

From hte other side. Nobody does it better than the Pats. They will use you for waht they can, make you buy into their system and get rid of you. If they cared about the long term, they would have kept Jimmy around, but every year they re-tool and pick players that fit their system. Gotta love/hate the pats.

I get it with teh family part, signing in EDM or Peg would be difficult from a family perspective or young single dude perspective. I wouldnt want to do it. If it were me FLA, Nash for the taxes. Avs would be up there. Chicago or SOCAL if I were younger and single.

So you just admitted that guys will and can sign at different places for different reasons? Great, thanks.

MARCUS JOHANSSON Should definitely be on our list. I wonder what his asking price is? Anyone want to take a guess?

His agent is probably seeing this run and asking 6x6. I bet he gets 5.25 somewhere. Heck, Boston might offer it to him. I know he wasn’t happy in Jersey. Didn’t like who he was playing with and didn’t feel like he got a fair shake, the injuries didn’t help either obviously

Cap friendly states that he plays all three forward positions. Wish we could pull it off somehow. I like his game a lot, he just stands out a lot for me. Honestly I would totally do 5.25 but that 6x6 seems like an awful long time to gamble

B's just cruising though the neutral zone. Zero resistance on zone entries. Blues reminding me of the Penguins this season....just hanging on for dear life.

They’ve been incredibly sloppy this game.
