No respect for players who buy Stanley Cups. Imagine if Mario said I’ll go play here a year so I can get a cup. It’s a bad look. - Grinder47
Mario, the guy who won 2 cups already?
You can have an opinion, but it's wrong here. Bourque re-signed as a free agent after being traded, and was a major contributor to the Avs in his final year.
But I love the disconnect in logic here. If players aren't dedicated to winning the Cup and only sign for money, they are demonized for not caring. Apparently if a player only cares about winning a Cup, they are demonized for buying a Cup. |

He didn't jump on a front runner, he was traded to them and later resigned with them. |

I'm quite content. I got my own administrative assistant at work recently.
They do absolutely nothing useful, but the ego boost is solid. |

Players should be concerned about 1 thing....$$$$$. They didnt get to this level just by coasting. THey have a stupid amount of talent and lucky to be born with it. Do your best to try and control your own destiny and make as much as you can along hte way. Nobody cares about your career other than you. So who cares if a player asks to get traded or pulls a Hossa....really dumb argument for a player to only be loyal to a certain team or that a team owes a player something to keep them around til they fall apart. |

Well that’s your opinion. Why is Karlsson hoping for offers from Montreal and Ottawa? It’s not all about money. These guys want to play with their buddies and their wives want to be by their families
Fun fact (something you guys might not know): the players have a portion of their contracts sit in escrow and it goes back to the owners based off revenue or something like that. Was just discussing it with players last week. So they pay taxes, escrow, agent fees, and then they get a take home pay |

How do you know hes hoping for offers from there?
Look at McCutchen from hte Pirates. He took a discount to stay with the Pirates. what did it get him? Years on a lousy team and then traded.
From hte other side. Nobody does it better than the Pats. They will use you for waht they can, make you buy into their system and get rid of you. If they cared about the long term, they would have kept Jimmy around, but every year they re-tool and pick players that fit their system. Gotta love/hate the pats.
I get it with teh family part, signing in EDM or Peg would be difficult from a family perspective or young single dude perspective. I wouldnt want to do it. If it were me FLA, Nash for the taxes. Avs would be up there. Chicago or SOCAL if I were younger and single. |

It’s all over Sportsnet with the articles, video reports, and radio reports. He’s hoping for offers from Montreal and Ottawa because his wife misses her family |

Yeah I've been reading about it. The Habs are an interesting team with some pretty solid young players. They put together some good streaks of solid play last year and only missed playoffs by 2 points. Adding someone like EK would make them much better. |

There’s a big mix on MTL adding EK. On one hand that’s a lot of money tied up in EK, Weber, and Price plus they already have Petry. On the other hand, it’s EK65 and Petry will be 32 next year. IMO they should absolutely sign EK and trade Petry, for which there would be some demand. The bigger need is obviously Duchene but also Gardiner makes a lot of sense... it’s going to be a heck of an offseason |

Montreal is the coolest. I suck at French but its my favorite city Ive ever been....Ive visited there 8 or 9 times, 5 of which to watch the Pens in the Bell Centre.
Pretty much everyone in Mtl is bi-lingual and they have a knack for knowing if you're all English haha.
Highly recommend Montreal to anyone that hasn't been there but especially single men or groups of them. What a time to be had. |

It would be pretty hard to pass up Karlsson if you're Montreal and all of a sudden he wants to go there. I worry those injury issues will linger for him, but he's such an amazing talent. |
