Pittsburgh can’t undo the awful Ryan Reaves trade, but at least they can start using their draft picks more wisely.

It will be interesting to see who Rutherford takes. This is the first time since 2014 (Kapenen) where he is drafting in the first round.

Yeah, the trade was terrible. Having Reaves on the team wasn't really that bad but he definitely was not worth a first.

Plus Oskar got suspended so it's almost like we gave up the same type of player to get Reaves.

I try not to rag on RW but the content of these blogs is starting to disappoint. This news came out a couple days ago and we already talked about it. Is it big enough to complain about some more? Was there even a JJ mention in there?

Here's hoping Chara plays without a face mask and somebody punches him in his surgically repaired mouth.

The Blues love EVERY SINGLE BIT of it. Sundqvist is the most underrated player on our team. Kills penalties, throws his body around, and had 14 G and 17 A in the regular season. 4G and 5A in the playoffs. Kostin is taking his time, but looks like he could be a beast too.

The whole Reeves/Brassard trades really hurt. They didnt make much sense at the time and looking back really look awful.

Im not sure Brassard gets another contract after his play this year.

Unfortunately for Pens fans, it looks like GM Rutherford is in contention for worst GM in the league now that Chiarelli has been fired... his moves are consistently bad and make the Penguins worse off than before. Take advantage Flames!!!

Rutherford is two years removed from building a back to back Stanley Cup winning team. How many back to back cups has your GM built?

Every time the “awful Reaves trade” is brought up in like yeah, trading Reaves for Brassard was awful.

St Louis is stealing the Bruins lunch in the finals, if they go on to win there will a step back towards tougher players. I miss Reaves, tops in the league in face punches per 60.

Reaves would have been fine if he was the worst player on his line. Unfortunately he was the best. Plus, the coach never bought in.

Glad you like him but he’s a dime a dozen player. Blueger has more potential. Hope he has a nice career with you

These articles are terrible. RW has whipping boys and once you are on list there will be endless bashing. Why not talk about Stanley cup finals? Series has been physical and fun to watch so it doesn’t fit into his narrative so it’s better to bash JJ and RR instead

Precisely.

Anyway if we don't do a good hockey trade with Phil just keep him and try to unload a couple of our d-man or perhaps ship Hörnqvist to Minnesota for Zucker.

Too bad we have a coach that played a long time in the nhl scoring like zero goals and never registering s FM. How the (frank) does that even happen? I’m glad Reaves is playing for a proper former player coach in Vegas who gets it.

I think JR will do his thing to reshape the roster, but I think this may be the year Sullivan gets the ax if the team doesn't improve. I think coaching has been an issue. I think it is one reason that Reaves did not work out, and Cole was healthy scratched.

Played too rough for Sully. Sully played dump and change, not dump and chase.

Sullivan wasn't a terrible player tbh. He was an alright 4th liner.

By scoring no goals and never fighting in the 90s? Bland.
