I think trading Wood makes sense. He's a good player but it just feels like he never quite "fits in" to the Devils lineup. Seems to always end up on the fourth line with a couple of randos just by default.

A little concerned about his durability but curious what the Devils would want back for Wood?

Good read Todd, thanks. I am OK with trading any of these players. I would like to retain Sami though if we can extend him at a reasonable cost

We'll give you Canucks draft picks from round 2 to 7.

In exchange for telling us how to win the lottery.

Told that, as of now, Taylor Hall is not interested in signing an extension with the NJ Devils. He has 1-year left on his contract. More here:

I'd love to trade for him, but not sure what the ask would be.

Thats a lie. Hall would never, nor would really any player say they are not interested in signing. They keep that stuff quiet.

Apparently this is the same guy that said we were finalists for deHaan when we didn't even reach out to him.

While I can understand entertaining the idea of trading Wood, I think he brings physicality, size and speed on the team that we really have no one to replace him with at the moment.

If Hall doesn't sign an extension with the Devils and Roman Josi also doesn't sign an extension with the Preds, would you trade Hall for Josi straight up?

I don't think it's going to come down to this for either team, but I'm curious to see if this is a good hockey trade.

I'm hoping Hall stays.

It's really easy to say somebody isn't going to sign with somebody because they haven't signed a contract extension yet. Guy is a total shyster.

I'd prefer we get a haul similar to what the Avalanche got from Ottawa for Duchene. More if possible considering he was a recent MVP.

I don’t think trading wood is a good move, it would make the team softer.

I think we need to trade for more guys like Miles Wood. Nico gets pushed around and if we draft Hughes he'll probably get some extra abuse.

If we trade Wood it makes us seem like we don't respect wood. I definitely respect wood.

Maybe I missed games, but it looked to me that Woods gave up the "grinder" in him and instead just chased pucks down and retrieved them 60% of the time. I remember thinking this kid wants to be a scorer and not a hitter like he was his first year.

Yeah, to some extent his game changed. I think more in the beginning for the seaons when he wasn't scoring. But he gets pushed around less then most of our forwards and is fairly tough. I think this really team needs guys like him and Coleman. Bastian hopefully can add to that.
