For pick 12, the rangers will give you pick 20 and pick a player or two (within reason)...is fenton interested in that type of move?

I think the idea that the Wild can make a move or two and suddenly be a contender is a very optimistic one. They were something like 50 behind the goal differential of most of the teams doing well in the playoffs.

At the same time, Wild defense is solid, Dubnyk is capable. If Wild could package their 1st round pick with Rask & Foligno in a pure cap dump trade, then sign Duchene & Panarin, & all their RFA's in the 28m of cap space they'd have, I think they'd have as good a shot as anyone in the division. I'm not sure that's realistic, but Wild weren't front runners for Parise & Suter either.

Wild need a couple game-breaking, top line forwards. They have plenty of guys who would flourish if they were the secondary scoring, not what their opponents were focusing on defending.

You could probably trade away Rask as is, 1-1

The Wild need an miracle. One that can not only score, but make the others around him shine. Never has a player dawn the green and red. So either sell the farm to get him, or choke so hard in the season that they can get a top 2 pick and hopefully he pans out. Until this happens, the Wild will never be more then the Mild.

They are going to have to move backwards to move forward. Fenton should be doing his best to get rid of any of those expensive contracts with aging veterans.
