In the beginning of the article they say he is an offensive defenseman and then at the end they say he is a defensive defenseman so which is it?

thx for pointing that out...he's really more of a defensive defenseman so the "offensive" part, written in September wasn't right...

I do appreciate you taking the time to read and digest the piece

that's the very definition of bottom-pairing/reserve d-man...

he'll only make $800K this season

“Is there hidden intensity within Nelson's rather stoic on-ice demeanor? ”

Yes because:

Casey had 60 points in 99 college games

They could open it up with him IMO

good point...however, it seems as if he's settling into a defensive-defenseman type in a bottom-pairing/reserve role...at least in Buffalo

Nelson = meh.

As a bottom pair/reserve guy, i am fine with him. Equally fine with him leaving. However, i do like his salary relative to over-paid vets such as Scandella ($4+) and Bogo ($5+) who are also bottom pair/reserve guys IMO.

Is he still Brian Campbell ? I remember those days lol

He’s just an average defenseman that helps you out when your guys go down

I’m calling this post a win for me, he’s better than Bogo and Scandella, is good enough

Still 1-0

Liking a player for his salary compared to bogo and scandella is hardly a win for you.

I'd say a draw if nothing else . The whole take em or leave him part isn't definitive enough to award a point

if the sabres parted ways with nelson, and signed redmond to an nhl contract and made him the 6/7 d man

I don't think anyone would care, including luke skywalker
