I've watched Bouchard a fair bit in London. Oilers got a good one there. - gergeswillems

I saw him a few times in Guelph. He looks good too. Not as good as Bouchard though. |

What do you think the Wings will do with their cash flow this off season?

I don't think Yzerman will do much. The fake rebuild is over. The real rebuild begins. If a trade is there to be had Yzerman could make a deal. But I don't expect him to be a part of UFA lunacy. |

That’s because Yzerman is smart and doesn’t need to rely on UFAs

It's all about the draft with Yzerman. Hopefully he can find the next Kucherov, Point and Vasilevskiy. |

nylander isn't worth either one of those players......and certainly isn't worth them, plus anohter asset.
if anything the leafs are adding another asset - sensarmy_11
Yeah, Leaf fans are totally overestimating the value of Nylander |

Absolutely true and fair. However I'll take a money bet that he is PPG (or damn close) next season at 6.9 per.
AKA he ain't leaving. |

Hopefully, they just need to get past this one more year and Marleau is off the books. Seattle expansion draft is coming as well which probably sheds some salary, whether they like it or not. It’ll be really tight but cap wise they should be ok on terms of core players, funny how retaining salary in the Kessel deal has kinda come back to bite them. Another issue is actually improving the team, they might not need to move assets to get under the cap but they will if they want to be better next year IMO. |

I am hearing it's going to be Nylander to Minnesota for a second round pick, but the Leafs will have to retain roughly half of Nylander's salary. |

Doesn’t help them to be cap compliant til after game 1. Horton costs them 5.3m off of the 83m. They can then use it for trading for upgrades after then. Besides Kap & Johnsson won’t come that cheap & a risk of an OS for them. |

Bouchard is the only value out of any of those players lol, Klefbom would be out for 3 months if a fly landed on him. Nurse is a plug - Conquest

Teams are allowed to be 10% over the cap in the off season, and there has been just one (Ryan O'Reilly - matched) signed offer sheet in the last six years in the NHL. Will the collusion stop because it's the Leafs this time, or is that just wishful thinking on the part of opposing teams fans. |

Nylander will be much better next season with a full training camp behind him. Leafs should trade him for a defenseman like Barrie. I thought Dubas would trade Nylander last summer after he signed Tavares. Nylander isn't really needed.
Bracco is a cheap replacement and has chemistry with Matthews. Kapanen and Johnsson more than replace Nylander. Avs need a scoring winger and Makar more than makes up for the loss of Barrie.
He's only got a year left on his deal so Dubas would have to sign him to an extension before any trade can be made. Leafs can offset the loss of Gardiner with the promotion of Liljegren. Sandin isn't too far away either.
Dermott should be given a bigger role. They'll likely keep Hainsey for another season but trading for Barrie would lessen his minutes. If not Barrie then a guy like Brodin might make sense.
Dubas will likely try to find a way to deal Marleau to open cap space but it'll be tough. Carolina could use Nylander too but these 2 teams have talked quite a bit the past 2 years and haven't found a match. Maybe Faulk or Pesci or Hamilton could be had. No one ever keeps Hamilton. Toronto has some good museums. I got lost the last time I visited. |
