Crazy record:

The 2019 Carolina Hurricanes are the first team to get swept after sweeping a series since the 2019 New York Islanders

The Canes were the LAST team I was and would've continued rooting for in these playoffs. Exciting young team and fun to watch. Congrats on an incredible run.

Oh well, suppose it's up to the Blues now. Not a fan of SJ or Beantown. If the Pens can't have it, then maybe it's ok for another '67 team to get it.

They had played their bags off for months just to get a chance to get into the dance and had nothing left in the tank by the time they reached the finals.

Big things coming for this squad for sure.

Tough to take getting swept but I liked the class that Brind'amour displayed in the handshake line with Chara. One more reason to love this team and group of players. They represent Carolina well. I'm looking forward to next season and very interested to see who they bring back and who they let walk away in the off season.

I forgot, we still have the Checkers going strong in the AHL playoffs. The future looks bright for Canes fans. The team is young and the farm system is loaded. They have 4 picks in the first two rounds of the draft this year and plenty of cap space. There aren't that many franchises that are looking at the future with that much in their favor.

The youngest team in the NHL.

The most cap space in the NHL.

The top team in the AHL.

4 picks in the first two rounds of the draft.

Entire D corps locked up for next season already.

Yeah, they're in really good shape.

i dont know if i buy that. the Bruins were coming off 2 really tough series and Carolina had an easy time with NYI and a nice break before this series started. i think they just ran into a buzzsaw. the Bruins are a great team playing their best hockey of the year. not much Carolina could have done, gassed or not.

that said the Hurricanes looks like they're nicely set up for a run of success here. need a permanent solution in nets though.

Canes put up a great fight. When Chara double pumped Tavares in the face I feel the Bruins became unstoppable.

Columbus and Canes were cannon fodder.

Not taking anything away from the Bruins, they played a damn near perfect game.

Canes just couldn't muster any more push to break through at all anymore by the end.

But yeah, they have 13 guys under the age of 25 and only 3 over the age of 30. They'll be in great shape going forward.

Damn proud of The Canes, damn proud! Rod Brind'amour continues to show what a great leader and professional he is. Great season for The Canes and next year I look forward to another playoff run! Go Canes, and thank you Canes!

Don't forget the Canes have a owner who isn't afraid to burn $250 million in a campfire much less spend to the cap and NC is a flat tax state which $5000 a year is taxed the same as $500K, and is a bigger factor every year signing UFA's as Justin Williams turned down more money from the Habs because it was much less after taxes...Oh and the weather...Ask the Breadman and Bob they're Fl bound!

Waddell said this morning that Tom Dundon is not giving him a budget number, and they'll spend whatever they need to if it makes the team better.

Also would not rule out sending offer sheets.

Last time I remember an owner giving a Canes GM a green light to spend it was spent on...……………...Alexander Semin. I hope DW spends the green light money with more thought than Rutherford did.
