He hates Karlsson. There's nothing you could say to change his mind. He could win the Cup and the Conn Smythe and the Norris and he'd still find a reason to say he sucks. - JohnFergusonJr
Well, to be fair, the 4th Musketeer does have a face almost as punchable as Eichel and
Marchand. |

So you're saying that the Leafs can't trade Kadri? - RickJames77
No, They need to rehabilitate him.
They need to show him a lot of video and make sure that he understands that if he chooses to commit a suspendable offense, he needs to injure the opposing player. The problem is not Kadri's suspensions, the problem is that the Bruins player was not injured in either case. |

(frank) review. We’re all female doging about offsides reviews anyways so why add to something that’s already proven to be a problem? Review whether a puck crossed the goal line and that’s it.
May be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t give a (frank) if a guy is an inch offsides. Offsides review was an overcorrection to an egregious offsides. What was it Duchene?
No thanks - RickJames77
I don't think that review is the problem, I think it's the rule. The rule has to be changed.
Make it so that if the defending team gets control of the puck, it's no longer offside. If direct entry leads to a goal and it's offside, even if it's only an inch or less, then it's no goal. Also, change it so that as long as the player is over the blueline, even if he's not directly touching the ice, it's still onside.
Maybe a few other little changes but off the top of my head, these sound reasonable. |

So in that case he just needs to target someone more significant.

What's the rule look like? Simply touching the puck? What if it glances off someone's leg? Is it possession like it's supposed to be when a delay penalty is blown dead, because we all know the refs ALWAYS wait for the team to get possession, right?

I thought that they were going to enroll him in anger management classes in the summer..
Kadri only got suspended because DeBrusk pretended to be injured. |

Like with everything, that is not possession. But you're right, the refs will probably (frank) it up.
The people in the War Room or whatever it's called are just as bad as the on ice officials. They ALL need to go to Summer school and learn common sense with these things. It's really not as hard as they make it seem. |

You might be on to something here.
Like in Basketball where they have a possession arrow!
The NHL could use a LIVE referee bias arrow. The length of the arrow would indicate the level of bias being applied.
It would be established initially before the game and then changed during the game. Some of examples of how the arrow would change in size:
When Kadri stepped on the ice the, already huge Boston bias arrow would have doubled in size.
When a team has had more penalties against than another team, the arrow gets progressively larger in favor of the more penalized team this far.
When the home team is losing, and there is under 5 minutes left to play, and the game is being played in Montreal, The arrow favors the home team, and covers the entire screen, indicating an inevitable penalty against the visiting team.

Sadly, from a Leafs fan perspective, we know Kadri should not have been an idiot, but it is also clear that the refs letting cheap-shots go all game is what leads to this. Both Wingels and DeBrusk definitely "had it coming".
What Kadri actually needs to learn is to "take a number" as Brian Burke said yesterday on the radio when talking about Williams on Carolina.

Sure..
I mean, at some point hockey won’t even be played in arenas anymore, it’ll just be kids playing Chel 2035 and none of us will be able to tell the difference.

Not a bad idea..
When Matthews steps on the ice, the bias arrow would point to Babcock, indicating he already wants Matthews off, and is telling Marleau to get on quick.

We joke about this, but it’s true.
He’s really good on the big ice surface, not so good when confronted with body contact and less time to make a play. |
