Anyone see that interview with trump on Fox News? Unbelievable. So many crazy things said but this is one of my favourites...
Trump: “We won two World Wars, two World Wars, beautiful World Wars that were vicious and horrible“

Good to see the Seattle Sounders soundly beat the Whitecaps. |

i'll grant you that part of the interview was eye popping but nothing matches (and remember this is arguably the most powerful man in the world)....
Wallace: In the Fox poll, they asked people, who is more competent? Who’s got—whose mind is sounder? Biden beats you in that.
Trump: Well, I’ll tell you what, let’s take a test. Let’s take a test right now. Let’s go down, Joe and I will take a test. Let him take the same test that I took.
Wallace: Incidentally, I took the test too when I heard that you passed it.
Trump: Yeah, how did you do?
Wallace: It’s not – well it’s not the hardest test. They have a picture and it says “what’s that” and it’s an elephant.
Trump: No, no, no… You see, that’s all misrepresentation.
Wallace: Well, that’s what it was on the web.
Trump: It’s all misrepresentation. Because, yes, the first few questions are easy, but I’ll bet you couldn’t even answer the last five questions. I’ll bet you couldn’t, they get very hard, the last five questions.
Wallace: Well, one of them was count back from 100 by seven.
Trump: Let me tell you…
Wallace: Ninety-three.
Trump: …you couldn’t answer—you couldn’t answer many of the questions.
Wallace: OK, what’s the question?
Trump: I’ll get you the test, I’d like to give it. I’ll guarantee you that Joe Biden could not answer those questions.
Wallace: OK.
Trump: And I answered all 35 questions correctly. |

If anything good comes out of this pandemic, it's Trump gets voted out without it causing a civil war. That and the planet getting a bit of a break. |

trump's a symptom of not the cause of the disease that is afflicting the US. there's an anger amongst the political/social/economic divisions within that society.
it's been fomented for political gain for decades by most of their politicians and social leaders (tv/media etc.) and this is the product of it.
trump may be gone in november but the issues won't be. it just takes a flashpoint to set things off. the problem is that trump is a child with a lighter. |

I don't disagree with any of that. He was voted as a 'protest' president by an unhappy and divided country that had to decide between (South Park reference) a douche and a turd. |

I don't agree that Trump is merely a symptom. His divisive nature keeps hammering that wedge between people. I'd liken it more to an existing fire and he's gasoline being added to it.
I'm really concerned about November. If he doesn't get re-elected there's a solid chance he doesn't accept the outcome. |

in either your analogy or mine, we're both saying that the issues were there prior to him being elected, which means they'll still be there after he's gone. all it takes is a flash point.
i think his (un)willingness to accept defeat should it happen is being overblown. of course he'll blame it on the "deep state," or fraud or aliens but i don't foresee a breakdown of society or another civil war.
he and his supporters will cry bloody murder, they'll protest but it won't be on the scale that some are fearing.
it will however be just another tool for the populist movement to further destroy the public confidence in the state. |

One of the points that caught my attention from Mary Trump’s book was her comments about “enablers”. He’s been surrounded by them his whole life and as prez they’ve become more prominent, more sinister, more dangerous.
Donald’s weak-minded so very susceptible to suggestion from people much smarter than he is. There are definitely forces within American politics that are morally corrupt and have a warped world view.
It’s an all around scary situation. |

All signs point to him getting turfed. But for whatever reason I’m not 100% confident it will happen.
I truly believe America is lost right now and nothing, whether civil war, coup, or assassination would surprise me. |

enablers with benefits (the best type of washington relationship.)
those in government use trump and the populist movement to get what they want economically via politically. trump uses the populist movement to get what he wants which is money, increased fame and being the "decider." he gets used because he doesn't really care about anything as long as he personally benefits.
everyone uses the populist movement to their own ends. too bad the populists are too stupid to know they're being used.
bread and circuses (and the circus has been replaced by conspiracy theories.) |

Looks like support for lil’ Kenney is dropping...
Premier Jason Kenney’s approval rating, however, has taken a slight dip into negative territory with 48 per cent offering positive ratings and 50 per cent giving negative reviews. This represents a slight, but noticeable drop over the last two months as Kenney previously saw his personal approval jump seven percentage points between February and April.

So yeah, bought a 3 year membership with the green party today. I don't know why I kept putting it off. I'm keen to see how they really are with new members helping shape party policy. |
