It's crazy that people can't or refuse to abide by social distancing guidelines. Even with our neighbours we're pretty strict and we've all been watching each other stay at home for 3 months.

it is crazy man.

Today marks the 3rd straight day of double digit new cases in BC. We haven't had 3 consecutive days of double digit new cases since mid may. As things are starting to open back up, the cases are starting to rise again. Numbers overall are still great for BC, but people are starting to get complacent.

Yeah that's going to continue to happen until there's a major explosion or more people start dying. Hate to say it, but people aren't willing to sacrifice "their freedom" even though you lose little freedom from wearing a mask and socially distancing while washing your hands.

It's pretty easy to do safely and effectively, and my personal opinion (not medically qualified) is that it is enough. Some people are going to get sick, there's no avoiding that unless the globe decides to try to eradicate the virus which isn't happening anytime soon.

The best we can do is use the PPE we have at our disposal (which is MUCH, MUCH better than we had at the beginning of the outbreak, at least in sectors outside of healthcare) and some common guidelines to keep reducing and slowing the spread.

Having people shut in for another year or more isn't a solution. Taking those measures originally was necessary, just in order to buy us time to implement new safety protocol.

We will continue to provide more PPE for everyone, and go about things in a new normal.

The numbers, as per Dr. Bonnie Henry, are expected to rise, but remain manageable.

Not saying it’s good or bad, just that it’s not unexpected.

I think most of the states that opened early or didn't have restrictions at all. I also read that it's hitting rural areas and younger folks more so, now.

Playoffs!!

Almost every picture I see from the States, it looks like every one is partying like it's 1999.
It has to be Darwinism at full throttle.

It was Memorial Day in the US on May 25th. Like Mother’s Day, when we group on mass for any length of time, two weeks later the numbers of infections and hospitalizations goes up substantially.

I don’t think there’s any question that quarantine works to keep infections down but it’s a question as to how long are people willing to tolerate isolation. In some parts of Canada and the US it’s very little tolerance.

The island hasn't had a case in close to a month.
Everybody stay the f*ck off!

We have a friend over in the backyard for a couple of drinks every odd time. We still keep our distance. We're good with that for the foreseeable future.

Say no to orgies.

i had just read that BC had 36 new cases in 24 hours but that doesn't seem right.

36 cases over 3 days. 14 one day, 16 the next and 6 the following.

2 women from the UK arrived in New Zealand with Covid while attending a family funeral. They were given a compassionate pass. I don't think New Zealand is going to make that mistake again. I'm not looking forward to infected people from the mainland to start pouring over here when travel restrictions are eased.

36 in the last 72 hours. 15 of those cases were in FHA alone. We are starting to see an increase in cases as restrictions are relaxed. It was expected but it’s still a bit concerning.

Yeah, I read that about NZ. Crazy. It just takes one super spreader to wreak havoc.

Yup and look at the restaurant here in BC. Just one person can (frank) up months of dedicated adherence.

This is why I shake my head in disbelief about the NHL trying to salvage this season/playoffs. It might go well with no problems, but if it doesn’t, it could be a disaster.

In NB's case, that man is a doctor that travelled to PQ for personal reasons and lied to border authorities then started spreading it at work.

The hospital he worked at now has 41 staff self isolating, 10 of them with covid.

We also experienced our first deaths as a result, although both were already quite old.

We went from being the model province to now having more active cases than NS.

I've seen that. Been following the story from here. From, "I'm only human, we all make mistakes" to "it wasn't me, I'm being unfairly victimized".
