It's why SJ traded for Karlsson, Burns needed some mentoring |

He signed for cheap because of his obvious lack of direction, clearly he needs the mentoring of Crosby to ever become a true #1 C |

You'd have to be insane to trade a boat load for Malkin. Soon to be 33 and had what, 1 goal in the playoffs last year. Yeah, You can keep him Penguins ,and his 9.5 million per for the next 3 years |

242-204 points in favor of Malkin the last 3 seasons.
96-69 goals in favor of Malkin the last 3 seasons.
So yeah basically the same production... - Feds91Stammer
Malkin 1.17 pts/game vs. Kopitar .86 pts/game
Malkin 852 GP/ 391 G/611 A/ 1002 Points
Kopitar 1003 GP/ 312 G/ 576 A/ 888 Points
Malkin 12 seasons of 1+ pts per game
Kopitar 1 season of 1+ pts per game
Malkin IS the superior player. The stats don't lie folks! - Crushers68
I love that East Coast hockey fans think that points are the sole metric to judge a player.
Kopitar has led his team in scoring for over a decade while also being one of the top-two defensive forwards in the NHL every single year. I'll concede that Malkin is a moderately better offensive player, but he's nowhere close to the defensive player that Kopitar is.
If I could go back and draft either player at age 18, I'd take Kopitar over Malkin every single time. |

Wings did the same with Lidstrom. Traded for Chelios and signed Rafalski. Lidstrom went on to being mentored into winning many Stanley Cups and Norris Trophies. It's all about the mentoring. Then again Lidstrom must've mentored himself because he won 2 Cups before Chelios arrived. Perhaps Larry Murphy mentored him. |

Eklund: Canucks, Kings and Canadiens all Working on Malkin Plan. Buzz@3 - Eklund
Stop with your infactuation with Malkin already. We all get it, we really do. You’re riding (besides other things) this so called rumor hard as you have for the last 5years only so that you can take credit for it(would be a first for you).Any rumors ‘they’ are saying about the Pens are talking Kessel.

If I could go back in time I'd take Steve Yzerman at 18 over Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier or Mario Lemieux. No really, I would. |

Haha I love how you revised my original post. If only EK had people to do that for him maybe just maybe he would be more creditable and people would take him more seriously.🤔 |

If they could go back in time, the Senaturds would still pick Daigle over Pronger |

At Malkins age I don't see how the young Canucks are a fit. He'll be past his prime when the Canucks in theory should be competitive. |

Stay away Benning. Stay far away. Malkin has 2-3 really good years left. And if he's gonna be relied upon as the go to guy, you know his body is not going to up to the task. |

Malkin is the same age now as a young Richard Park was back in the day.
