Hummm...that clip was enlightening. I hope this means further announcements regarding the coaching staff will be forthcoming this week. At least, who is out. Does this mean the PK Subban rumors will die or get bigger?

I don't think that dynamic works very well. You cant have a "bad cop" in the position of being bypassed. Its takes all the power away.

It wont last long at all if every time Therrien is an bumhole they just do an end around to Vignault to complain.

Hopefully that is not the dynamic or that bench will be in shambles by November.

This dynamic is used in the nhl all the time. I think the point here is if you look at this coaching staff thus far, they want veterans behind the bench.

We have spent the last few years with new "innovative" young minds behind the bench as head coaches and assistants. It has not gotten us out of the 1st round.

You need respect and accountability in the locker room.

I understand the good cop bad cop dynamic being assumed just because of Therrien’s history but we really don’t know in what way he will be used. I’d like to wait and see the official announcement and if any specific role will come with it. Not sure if anyone listens to spittin chiclets but his stories on there are awesome, says whatever he wants.

Of course it is. My point is that in order to be used effectively its the guy at the top who needs to be the bad cop.

If he's running the D he will be the guy at the top to an extent (to the Dmen that is). Good cop/Bad is more of a short term thing, I feel like Therrien is just strictly business and isn't some snowflake who is gonna pat guys on the back saying great shift. He's gonna tell you what he wants and if you F up you're gonna hear it.

Well I guess that will put to bed the Subban trade rumors

For the love of God, please clean house behind the bench.

Wasn't Therrien the coach in Montreal when Subban won a Norris?

P.K. Subban. However, Subban's Norris Trophy winning 2012-13 season came with Therrien as his head coach.
