I guess... where does he play though? Or is he an extra? I get that injuries happen but they can only really carry 14 F, and if you include Weal, Lekonen and Armia, the Habs will have 16 under contract, most on one way deals, and that's excluding Hudon!

I don't get it, probably could have got Thompson on a PTO in September, or a player just like him... why not wait and see if a guy like Suzuki or Evans can really show you something in camp? Evans will be an NHL player, probably a pretty useful one too, now he's got next to no chance at cracking the lineup out of camp... stupid (frank)ing move if you ask me

Evans will most likely go to Laval, he probably has some work to do before being an NHL'er ... as for Suzuki, I'm sure they will find him a spot if he impresses at training camp.

Evans was in Laval this year and put 45 points in 67 games his 1st year pro, he's turning 23 over the summer, he's as ready as he'll ever be!

How silly would it look for Bergevin to buy out Thompson in 5 months? He's not gonna do that...

I think both Thompson and Weal will play on the 4th line. with Weal being an option to move up in case of injuries.

I dont have a problem with Poehling on the 4th line, this team lacks star power, their strength has to be depth, if he's C the 4th line with Shaw and Byron as wingers, playing 12-14 minutes a game, I don't see how that would be a negative as a 1st year player
