as for Free Agents... i would guess Dreger and LeBrun are suggesting that Gardiner will get at least 7M....

I hope Dubas gets the Marner deal done in the next week - so we don't have to listen to that garbage

You guys will never win with Babcock...and it looks like he will ruin Matthews. You guys had the better team and momentum but he is just a terrible coach who cannot adjust to the game. I don't know if it's a lack of vision or just stubborn pig headedness but it almost seems like he thinks he's smarter than everyone else yet is absolutely brutal.

There's a lot of comparatives out there. Guys that hold out, miss camp, jump into the season .....have relatively poop seasons. Gaudreau had his worst year after his holdout and he only missed a couple of weeks.

It's not an excuse ...he was subpar all year ...but before tossing him overboard I'm hoping they measure the situation. The reason the world is all over this kid is because he played/performed well-below expectations. Clearly we all expect more of him b/c we all know what he is capable of doing.

Hopefully he uses this to motivate himself and Babcock/Dubas get him back on Matthews wing next year.

That being said ...if somebody is willing to dangle an affordable top end RHD for him then get 'er dun.

it is interesting to look at the JohnnyHockey holdout as a comparable... yes, JG's number we down... but Nylander by comparison disappeared.... and its strange but there's a direct correlation between Nylander starting to play and Leafs falling in the standings - considerably.

Nylander didn't just lose a step... he appears to have lost his "mojo" completely - and his compete level was never very high.

I fear that Dubas hangs on to him for "another year" and "another year" because he's worried about the contract optics... oblivious to the negative impact

The refs got the call wrong, Eakens should have gotten 2 min for cross-checking and Stasny 2 min for interference. So, 4 mins total.
Unfortunately, Pavelski was in a vulnerable position and landed awkwardly and that's what caused the injury.
However, wasn't the refs that let in 3 goals on the ensuing power play.
Suck it up Jonathan, the Leafs had to on a crappy call against Kadri.
