Islander's fans watching the Canes vs. Caps series...

sorokin has one more year on his khl deal. i would try and sign lehner to a 3 year deal. and if he puts up the same kind of season as this season i would trade sorkin's rights for whatever the best deal is. i just feel like he is never coming over. i hope i'm wrong.....

Lehner is going to probably be looking for 5 years and hopefully he gets 4. Greiss' deal expires after next season and that's the perfect time to ease Sorokin in. The key is not giving Lehner a NMC or a full NTC. No reason the Isles can't roll Lehner and Sorokin and let the best goalie get the big minutes. You can always trade one of them.

Trading Sorokin would be the absolute dumbest thing they could possibly do. It costs them zero cap space or actual money to retain his rights and no other GM is going to give up anything noteworthy for a guy that might stay in Russia.

How do you like the new Oilers GM and coach? Seem like solid picks to me.

Compare his stats to to his backups...compare his stats to the goalies of the other teams that actually compete.
I hope he is great.....
but the top 4 goalies statistically in the regular season come from 2 teams.
It's so lopsided.
His GAA dropped in 1/2, save % up .25 since he moved from Metallurg to CSKA.
Its hard to know what your getting.
