Slowest skater I have ever seen in my life.
- Feds91Stammer

averaged about the same amount of points per season as Jacob Trouba

Just shows you how bad the late 90s-early 00s were for the game. He was the Stars #1 D on a cup winning team and no one blinked an eye.

Well you didn't have to be a good skater when you could just hack at and go water-skiing behind the good players

They aint getting rid of Fast
- mdw7413

I've made my case against this, but I'll restate it:

Fast isn't that good. We grew to love him because of his defensive capabilities under AV and a cute nickname. He's the exact same player as Vesey, Strome, Vlad with worse offensive capabilities.

I see the argument for not wanting to keep Vesey, but don't understand why Fast is protected.

Because he does everything right and plays all out every shift. He is the kind of player you keep that is an example to younger players. No one thinks he is a superstar, he is a character player that you still need on the team

His brief stint with DET was painful to watch.

I'm not going to say Fast is untouchable, I will say though he's a good bottom 6 player. Fast is never going to command a high salary and can play higher in the lineup. Vesey isn't that great defensively. Strome and Vlad can play the roles as good or better than Fast, but will always probably cost much more. Solid players like fast that will make pennies annually are worth a decent amount.

Not as funny as when Hitch brought him to Philly. That 06-07 team was bad.

They do need a backup plan in case Panarin isn’t in the cards

I'm not buying the notion that he can move up the lineup. He can't. He has no offensive game. I also think he took a step back last year under Quinn. He was invisible for most of the season.

Old Fast, I like him. New Fast, meh.

The plan should be to wait and not make a rash decision that they'll regret.

He didn’t practice all year, he was really banged up. I just think you can save some money by giving a kid that role. He’s a good player for a cap strapped team that’s contending, like TB. They may not anymore former rangers tho

So jealous of how your team is rebuilding.
Wish we had a Owner that knew how it's done.
Oh, and getting the #2 pick is pretty nice too. But all those picks...

I'm not saying he sucks. I just don't agree that he's this prized piece to the core that should be kept at all costs.
