I'd maybe feel a little bad for Cody Eakin today but he once hit Henrik Lundqvist in the head so nah.

It wouldn't be the worst trade in the world. Though you wonder if Nylander has some sort of mental issue he's dealing with after that contract. The bright lights of MSG might not be the best for him

it's not why you give him a 7 year contract and hinder yourself though

no one disputes his greatness, but it could end up being like when Rangers got Bure

- jimbro83

he’d be worth every penny to someone. That was super human last night you can’t find that in many players

Couture is a helluva player too. What a game, that was epic

Define every penny. Take our experience with Richards, he was pretty good for a couple seasons, but then drastically went downhill. If we sign Erik for 7 years and the first 2-3 years gets close to a ppg, then falls off a cliff, was he worth it? Does that change if we win a cup in the first couple seasons?

You could go either way with this debate. I sort of understand when you sign a big ticket UFA that you know the last couple years will be painful. The question is how much is too much?

Sharks moving on is very good for hockey. This team has been in it for the past 20 years with nothing to show.. I'm pulling for them now

Just can't. I (frank)ing hate Thornton. Gus is a POS. I was so happy when it was his giveaway that Vegas scored on to tie it at 4. I've had it with "Jumbo"... GTFO here already.

Agreed, although teams will be lining up to throw big money at him. We're not close to contention right now, so like 2sticks said, I'll pass.

Trouba to NYR is sounding more & more like the right move ,IF Perrault can be included for Pionk,Vesey & a few picks ...DONE althought why Vesey? , he will need a new contract nexy season,Perrault signed next 2 ?
I M O i would say Anderson & Pionk & a 1st rder will do it ,
I dont like either guy ,not bad just not gonna nearly good enough next yr
with all the talent moving up very fast for NYR
NOT going for Karlsson & getting Trouba instead is the best move, aside form age
Trouba plays the right side ? we have needs on right side
Panarin is a must , But Trouba with Shey ,D'ANgelo, Lindgren & Hijak are big ADDS
(gotta move Shatty ,Smith, pkg them with pick or prospect to help ...)
Staal as a coach like 6th man on D
I love Karlsson but i just dosnt add up ..Trouba does

It’s a very tough call for the Rangers I imagine. You just wish they were a few years ahead of where they currently are in the rebuild. But seeing what he can do on one leg, twice now-he did it vs rangers in Ottawa, suggests that he can pretty much do anything and even in 7 years he’ll find a way to be great

You know your getting a born leader, great offensive dman and clutch player. It’s hard to say that about many UFAs. He makes so many players better. He made someone named Barclay Goodrow a hero for (frank)s sake

That really is the issue. This might be one of the best UFA classes in the cap era, but it is 100% the wrong time for us. I don't blame the players one bit for wanting 7 years. If we could sign Erik for 4 years, then yes I'd be all in. If you think we don't need Panarin, I wonder if you could offer something like 4/56? That's an insane cap hit for sure, but in the overall scheme of our cap wouldn't screw us long term.

- jimbro83

I say nay. Trade Kreider to a team that needs the scoring help. For picks and prospects. Nylander is not a player you can win with.
