Ya bizarre take. Green was praising their communication more than anything

I can’t even fathom how people can watch these players & conclude that Soderstrom has comparable developmental upside at 10th overall to any one of several forwards who could be there... but to each their own I guess.
- DrChristianTroy

But as much as we need D picking a good D would have a bigger impact to the team than a forward

Green wanted to let the kids run and add some vets to the bottom. JB did exactly that and added guys Green wanted. Seems like they are on the same page for sure.

I think whomever we draft won't play for three years and by then the forwards will mostly be filled.

I loved the Woo pick and I would like to see them follow up with the second best Dman of this draft.

Green was on the radio this morning, if you read between the lines, he basically throws Benning under the bus for putting together a poop team. Just thought that might make you appreciate him a little more (or hate him a little less...)
- 1970vintage

That's what I was thinking, now I hate Benning & Green even more.

Looking forward to the valves being turned off, don’t want to ship oil, pay the price and ban all petroleum products into B.C.

It would serve Horgan and his merry band of GreenDP idiots right...but I fear that would cause more problems than it would solve. BC just needs a govt that will think forwardly and not always inwardly. Basic stuff really lol

I agree other than none imo are close to top 10. The 2nd round is a better time for D unless Brackett has some other pick in mind. After Byram no D is in my top 15.

I want to correct erroneous media reports that I tried to hire Dean Lombardi. In fact, I've never spoken to Dean Lombardi in my life.

He took them to the final with a 930 save percentage two years ago. They did not lose that series because of him at all.
- neem55

Again neemer it's not always about the final numbers...it's about what game he will choke in. Gm 4 the Stars chased Rinne with 4 goals on 8 shots lol. Preds win that game they likely win the series. Like Lou he'll never be a stable PO goalie. It is what it is. Kind of like WPG is stuck in a rut with Hellebuck. Can't see WPG getting back to the conference finals now with Hellebuck in goal...you just never know which version you will get.

If Boldy and Zegras are gone, I am down with this. Soderstrom looks good, Newhook isn't a bad option either. Kids have potential for sure.

He's 17, plays in the SHL and doesn't get torched in fact is very defensively relable. Offence is a question mark but he looks like he could easily be a solid defensive guy and has the skating/passing to do more. If you look a bit more he produced offensively when he played with kids his own age. Including the U18 right now where he's wearing a na as a 18 year old. You're entitled to your opinion, but I can't fathom why anyone would give it credence over central scouting where Soderstrom has steadily been rising all year.

Caps had this issue with Holtby until they won the cup.

Umm Benning is a genius, Green is an overwhelmingly poor coach

I know who he is and I’ve watched him enough to form an opinion on his ceiling. I don’t like that pick at 10 in this draft. At all.

I don't think Holtby was ever chased as much as Rinne in the PO's but could be wrong. But champs eventually get through it. Don't think Rinne is that guy.

Good goalies get shelled in the playoffs. Great goalies bounce back. at the end of the day, it really is about how the goalie played ove r the course of the game overall not the one game he got shelled. It's like focusing on the one bad play a dman made until the cows come home and not really looking at what they do consistently over 82 games. I will continue to look at the overall. Saying ignore his 930 save percentage is IMO is just ignorant. now, the fact that he has had 905 save percentage the last two years might be worth pointing out. Having watched those games, I think most people know it's much more on the forwards than on Rinne.

lol ya that was one year where the fans and media over-reacted and basically had Eberle turfed.

Rinne has been doing it year after year for about 4 seasons now..

Good points of course and yes NSH's offensive D and forwards failed to show when needed which is also a factor. But Rinne has been a ? mark for more than a few seasons now in the PO's...this year no different really he just didn't get chased in the elimination game (like he did vs WPG last year) which doesn't really change much in the grand scheme IMO.
