During this meeting, Sullivan showed a video of Chad Ruhwedel with the puck in the corner behind goaltender Matt Murray. There were no Penguins forwards visible in the screenshot, prompting Sullivan to say, “What is Chad supposed to do in this situation?”

Pittsburgh’s second line was on the ice during this particular sequence. Thus, Sullivan’s question was directed toward that unit. Evgeni Malkin offered his opinion:

“He’s in the NHL,” Malkin said in front of the entire team. “He can skate it out.”

Therein lay so may problems.

No. But I just like when he sticks to the facts, presents a few options without being a condescending douchebag. He knows his stuff, I just don't like the holier-than-thou tone he usually employs.

Where have my daily Jonathan Toews updates gone?

Pomminville and Ennis are decent players for sure. I’d like to sign both for dirty cheap. Certainly better than what we had on our 4th line.

I love the idea of Pominville on the Fourth Line. Unfortunately, Sully would throw him into the Top 6 the first chance he got and then he’d become the unfortunate whipping boy.

There’s quite a few solid bottom six options this off-season.

looks like it's 50/50 on whether or not he plays tonight. I think it's pretty likely that both he and Ferland are back in, but I doubt they'll say anything at all until game time.

I think the Caps finish them off tonight, but you never know. Teams play differently when the season is on the line

I kind of agree and I'm thinking about laying a few sheckles on the caps but I can't count out the canes at home

They're just too beat up. Have been playing to save their lives since January and you can see them running out of gas when the Caps start hitting back.

I'm all on board with signing Ennis. He'll probably go super cheap again. I'm wary of extending ZAR. I'm fine with him, but he needs to make less than 1.2 mil for it to make sense. You can't be paying pigeons any type of money.

Oscar Lindberg is a UFA. He could be a steal for the 4th line.

Agree on this being one of RW’s better columns. I have always felt that the Pens got good value out of Blueger and ZAR not so much Wilson. Need to clear some contracts and use this savings to upgrade more than just the 4th line.

I think Wilson is exactly what you want out of an AHL call up. He's capable of playing on the 4th line and not hurting you at all. He's the definition of vanilla, which is great when you've run into injury issues. But he's not a guy that the coach should playing over other players that can bring something more than just not hurting you.

I don't like ZAR if hes not slotted with Malkin.

Those good looking stats of his are far more reflective of his 2nd line time vs his 4th line time.

I’d see if the Islanders would trade Marti cizikas and clutterbuck for Matt Murray. I think it’s funny how none of the blogs throughout the whole four games the pens played had any mention of them shutting down Sid and the golden child. Garret Wilson should absolutely not be on the fourth line he should play with Sid and the golden child.

If you want a guy who can skate, Duclair is your guy. He had a decent 2018-19, not great by any standard, but a 4th line role, with speed, and a young and cheap contract... that all sounds like positives to me.

Rutherford should've given the minimum 1-year contract to him instead of Cullen.... No reason why Cullen had to take Blueger's spot this season.

I agree that these RW blogs are good. No talking down to readers, making stupid jabs at players, and just presenting a problem and addressing possible solutions. I like it.
