It’s a 2020 4th round pick and Nashville needs to win a playoff round for that to become a third. The couple of articles I checked didn’t say whether they needed to win a round either this year or next.

Yes, I saw he was hit in the kneecap with a shot. But even prior to the playoffs his ice time was diminished and he wasn't playing well for the Preds. Flyers made a wise decision not giving him a contract. It appears his game is declining.

The problem with all of this really is where do we, as human beings, draw the line? Ben Franklin owned slaves, should he be taken off the $100 bill or should the Franklin Institute be renamed? Romans owned slaves and fed Christians to the lions. Do we need to tear down the Coliseum? Chinese were abused in building the U.S. railroad system, do we close down Amtrak? Jews were exterminated by the millions by the Nazis. Why does anyone that isn't an anti-Semite drive a Mercedes Benz, a known Nazi company during WWII? Japan "raped" Nanking. Do I smash my Playstation? Of course I'm being facetious, but the point is that human beings have been horrible and abusive to one another since the dawn of man. Why not focus on educating people TODAY to be better to one another TODAY? Erasing history, in my opinion, only serves the end purpose of having it repeat itself, not the other way around. Stop trying to hide the terrible and instead work on making it never happen again.

I've been reading this for days now now without jumping in. I grew up in North Jersey as a Rags and later Isles fan. Hated Flyers and Kate for that song. I moved to Bucks County in 78. Pre internet days so couldn't really follow out of town teams.
It took til 85 for my fandom to align with the Flyers. I actually came to like the Kate video.
That said, I'm saddened to see it go. I never really understood the statue so I don't care. In today's climate there is nothing else they could do. That doesn't mean Kate should be vilified for those songs. No worse then the crap spewed by rappers today. Plus she wasn't singing about killing cops.
We must learn from history lest we be forced to repeat it. But there was nothing else for Comcast to do. Thanks for the memories, Kate. Your GBA will hold a place in my heart. Those two songs were abhorrent though. Was shocked when I read the lyrics.

Islanders fan here. Deeply saddened by what has been done to Kate Smith. I understand the arguments supporting removal of the statute but I find it difficult to understand why we treat things that happened in the 1930s with a 21st Century sensibility.

That being said, I have to say that the night Ms. Smith sang live at the Spectrum before game 7 of the 1975 semifinal with the Isles and the presentation of flowers to her by Eddie Westfall will always be engraved in my brain. Obviously, it was not the result I wanted that night but she will always be a part of Isles history.

I regret that we turn our backs on history.
