kane is the best player in the west. - SteveRain
Remember that #97 guy up north, wears a funky orange jersey until the beginning of April?
Kane is 2nd to #97, in the world
Crysby 3rd
MacKinnon could be 4th

Am I the only person in the U.S. hoping the Leafs jam it into Boston's ear? Apologies in advance to those fans suffering from close geographical proximity to Leafs Nation. I understand your position. I really do. - gabriel
Not a fan of the Leafs but f the Bruins. They play such a dirty game. Never seen so many off hand punches to puck carrier from
Chara and co. Last time I checked punching players during live play wasn’t allowed. Not to mention the post whistle stuff....
I also love Matthews. |

If they both could lose tonight, I'd love it.
I hate Babcock and would love to see the Canadian media melt down with the Leafs out.....however, I also can't stand anything Boston...tough call. I am pulling for San Jose in the late game.
I kind of want the NYI vs Leafs East finals, so the fans on Long Island can torment JT as that would make for great TV. That's assuming the Leafs could get past the Blue Jackets and with that D on Toronto, I am not sure that will happen. |

I still take kane over McDavid. Until McDavid wins on the big stage.....he can fly around the ice all day long. |

I put Ovechkin ahead of Crosby. Ovechkin does it all, and has become a great leader. he is going to show that Tampa game 6 from last year form tomorrow......it will be fun to watch. |

Have no vested interest in the Leafs, either. And, yes, Boston is a borderline dirty team. Toronto needs to break the Bruin curse tonite. Doubt it will happen, but you never know.

Agreed. Cozens speed up the middle would also be really nice. Size and speed have been giving teams fits all playoffs. The Preds couldn’t keep up with the endless waive of fast Dallas forwards. Side note Polak was really good for Dallas last night. He’s slow as can be but made some great plays with his stick and positioning.
Whatever the Hawks decide they have to hit big on the pick. - bhawks2241
That's why I mentioned Polak as a cheap UFA pick-up for next year, would definitely help the PK, and our physicality on the back end.

I’d like to see a Blues / Jackets final, I really like both of those head coaches. No nonsense no screw around Personality. When this team is finally ready to win again Rocky will not stick with “Batman and robin”,he”llGet an experienced head coach again. - wonthecup10
I like the idea of a Blues vs Blue Jackets final, and I like both coaches too. However I’m not so sure about the personalities part. |

Couldn't stomach Babcock as coach of the dreaded Wings, back in the day. So, you want a two-fer tonite? Thought my dislike levels were spiraling upward. Steve, I can't help you with this hate-filled request. Ha! (Nothing wrong with wanting them both gone).

If the opportunity arose, I would not hesitate to return the offer sheet favour to the Sharks for doing it to us with Hammer. We still owe them one, otherwise best not to upset the negotiation process of another team. - 67hawks
I would rather see teams give new/younger guys a chance as opposed to thinking that another go around with one of the re-treads will be a better choice. Exactly what does Alain Vigneault bring to the table at this point? Sure he has had teams that are competitive in Vancouver and NY, but has never won a cup. The last championship he has won was 30+ years ago in the QMJHL. Mike Yeo, nothing, Boudreau...nothing, McLellan...nothing Hitchcock won a cup....20+ years ago. After first round exits, Maurice and Laviolette may be on the streets soon, and both will probably turn up somewhere. Maurice is another who has never won. Most of these guys have nice winning percentages, but have never been able to take teams all the way.
Cooper is the longest tenured coach in the NHL with 6 years, after another failed playoffs and embarrassing 1st round exit TB may be regretting that extension
I think you give guys like Colliton a little time to see what he brings. I also think that playoffs really show what a coach and his staff bring to the table. The ability to recognize, adapt and adjust while playing the same opponent 7 times in a row is a huge part of going deep in the playoffs and winning a cup. Coaches that seem to get pantsed regularly in the playoffs just need to go.

Dallas can beat St. Lois...Defense is king. - Ogilthorpe2
Blues Note: They play decent D too, that game six was a shocker to me. Holding the Jets to six SOG through the first two periods was some impressive defense.
Blues SOG allowed:
Game 1: 25
Game 2: 29
Game 3: 29
Game 4: 39
Game 5: 31
Game 6: 20 |

I kind of depend on some of you guys when it comes to Jeremy Colliton because I don’t know that much about him when he was a player, I was told that he does prefer a more chippy kind of in your face game , that is why I am interested to see what kind of Mark he puts on his team after he is allowed to sit at the draft table, be a participant in free agency and trades and run his own training camp.
I think there’s going to be a sense of accountability when it comes to play in the defense of zone. I don’t think he’s going to give 56 as much of a leash moving forward. Personally I hope that Bowman eliminates that headache for him this summer. I know how many points he put up but in my mind he is nothing more than a selfish beer league type player. He has been called out more than a few times by the broadcasters and others on his lack of, for a better word, playing for the team.
Lastly, I was a big fan of Trent Yawney when he was here and would love to see him right back as an assistant. |

There are a few reprehensible players on the Bruins, and their style of play is borderline some of the time, but I am really OK with either of those teams advancing. Whether Toronto wins this season or not, I do not see them being a long term threat. Zero cups and seemingly already in Cap hell going forward. They will lose a key piece or two after this year. They have a young enough roster to remain competitive for a while, just not sure it will be enough for a cup.

Although I don't think he has any connection to any Hawk brass, I would like to see the Hawks bring in John Stevens as an assistant coach in charge of defense and PK. I think with Colliton's and the rest of the coaching staffs (Brrkbank, Granato) inexperience, they need someone with more experience behind the bench. |

Hair-splitting here on my end, but I'd settle for two. How many of our young defensive upstarts are going to be ready for prime time? For some of them it's going to take a few years. |

Agreed! As while I think the Hawks can get back to the playoffs, I am still concerned with the coaching staff as well as they are all new behind the bench.
I'm not sold on JC and his staff yet. They aren't a rebuilding team, so why have 3 newbies run the ship?? Nothing against him, but feel like JC should have been made an assistant first. I'm rooting for him like everyone else here but have my reservations.
Oh and bye bye Nashville! Have fun cat fishing. Now get rid of the Blows. |
