The upsets and sweeps have made for an exciting 1st round, but Nashville losing brings me the greatest joy. - Chief4Feathers
But, honestly, the St. Louis Blues are more than ready for Dallas. And, that, is never a good thing. Don't see Dallas knocking them off. No way. |
|

Well most of them don’t understand the hockey basics so they need to have easy cheers to follow.
Plus PK Subban... one of the most overrated players in the game. Can’t tell you how many times I saw him skate way out of position to try and land a big hit. He doesn’t really do much for me offensively either. Above avg puck carrier at best. - bhawks2241
Does Subban have some kind of history with the Dallas team? The fans were really on him every time he touched the puck. |

I celebrated that OT winner for Dallas so emphatically it almost felt like I was watching and rooting for the Hawks for a second there...
Never realized just how much I hate the Preds. - SimpleJack
One down and one to go. I dislike St. Louis 10x more than Nashville. The path for the Blues may have just gotten a bit easier playing Dallas. But, this playoffs are the wackiest (best) ever. Go Stars!

He’s regressed quite a bit over the past couple years. No longer an elite/all-star caliber player. |

Not that I know of... fans just don’t like him. He’s a dirty cheap shot artist most of the time and cowers when someone confronts him. Loves laying big hits on unsuspecting players but when someone lines him up he usually puts his stick up or an elbow. |

Several times saw him come up all the way to center ice to lay a hit while the puck goes right by him into his zone... literally had no idea what he was doing. Today’s NHL features a lot of puck moving d-men. He was a bit of a novelty 4-5 years ago as not many D men consistently joined the rush and carried the puck like him. Now it seems like every team has 1-2 of those guys.
He lands a big time hip check once in a while on a forward that has his head down. Reminds me of Kronwall. Yuck.
Benn wasn’t having any of him this series and PK was nowhere to be found for the most part. |

He sure did look good tonight. I looked up his career stats after the game. Grimaldi has not done much in the way of scoring anywhere and has kicked around a lot considering he was a fairly heralded draft pick. - 67hawks
He’d still be worth it. Grimaldi for Hayden. |

STL might very well win the Cup
I’m still sticking with Boston though until they get eliminated cuz I picked them entering the playoffs. I’ve got the Blues making the SCF representing the West. |

Good point about Subban
And yeah...Benn is playing out of his mind right now. If he played like this all the time he’d be one of the top 5 wingers in the league.

I’d like to see a Blues / Jackets final, I really like both of those head coaches. No nonsense no screw around Personality. When this team is finally ready to win again Rocky will not stick with “Batman and robin”,he”llGet an experienced head coach again. |

Now you've made me feel better. NOT. Lol. I think the only thing the Blues may have difficulty with, is inexperience as the pressure mounts. Your call on a Bruins-Blues finale sounds about right. Hope the Bruins win it all, in that scenario.

Still waiting to see how Colliton progresses. If all we see this upcoming season is forwards cruising our slot at will, again, he needs to be shown the door.

Damn, yet another participation trophy for the Nashville Predators...
I guess all of us Hawks fans will have to sit on the sidelines, with the 3 Stanley Cups, and watch yet another Predators Participation Trophy Parade with much jealousy. Congrats to Predators superfan DiaperRash. |

We want to win now right?
Sign Calgary's Matthew Tkachuk on June 1st...you decide the best player available in the draft prior to June 1st.. You give up the picks because they are not luck wise gonna be #3 and if the top pick and Tkachuk and the young nucleus and Kane and Toews are going to a team that except for maybe the first year of the lost draft pick, going to be a playoff contender.
Of course, Matthew Tkachuk has got to want us.
If he doesn't, ask Mikko Rantanen,(maybe pipe dream, ya think?) if he is locked in,
go down the list from there: Kyle Connor RFA sheet, if no, shift to Philly's Ivan Provorov a LD, if not leaving,
take it down to Colton Scissons.
But dont be afraid of the RFA
Nathan MacKinnon: in his draft year we were fooled that linemate Drouin was part of the reason for his success.
Now we see who was driving their success... - wiz1901
Hand up, I was one of those guys.
Learned a lesson that looking at a young guy play, I might not really know what I'm seeing.
Still like Cozens though, his speed and size jump off the screen |

He was all over the place, announcer must have said his name 150 times.

So nice to wake up this morning to the news that the Preds choked again. I'm sure they'll raise another participation trophy this fall.
Who wins the Cup...
It's pretty much wide open right now. I had the Bolts who completely collapsed. Bruins are my dark horse team...Jackets and Isles both look good. I would think Tortz is licking his chops at the thought of playing the Caps.
Who wins the West? zzzzz...Blues? Lanche? Or the winner of the Sharks Knights series. |

David Poile this morning.
The entire blueline is under contract; most will be back
Simmonds and Boyle didn't add much. At least one is gone.
A 37 year old goalie with 2 years left.
Cap currently at 79 mildo for 2019-20 and they need to sign a 3-4 players...they have a problem. |

I agree, I am one that said let’s give the kid a chance, but the more I am watching this stuff unfold this year, playoff hockey is awesome, I love the fact the refs put their whistles away, I wish they would Call it that way during the season. and Berube, loved the Chief as a player, and he does not change his style, and torts already won a cop and has been knocking on the door a couple of other times. His GM provided him with the resources for this year. If the boy wonder is provided with the proper resources and he succeeds then good on him. But if not I wouldn’t mind giving Trent Yawney a second chance |

Regarding the offer sheets remember what goes around comes around. Hawks offer sheet some team's young star this year and then someone offer sheets Strome or Cat next year. I guess one way around that is to sign these two before they become RFA'S on June 1 2020 |

Colliton also arrived under a terrible cloud. He basically was handed a team that was in mourning. Think he's a good guy, but do good guys win anything? We shall see. Players have seemed to rally behind him. That's a good sign. I'm with you on Berube. Was tough as nails as a player, and expects the same approach from his team.

If the opportunity arose, I would not hesitate to return the offer sheet favour to the Sharks for doing it to us with Hammer. We still owe them one, otherwise best not to upset the negotiation process of another team. |
