I happen to be a huge MacKinnon fan so I'm biased. But tell me who is better than him right now in the West and going forward. It certainly isn't Monahan or Kopitar or Johannson or Couture. Maybe Scheiffle. McDavid is his equal with nobody to play with other than Draisatl.
Wayne Gretzky says he is a hybrid of Gordie Howe and Mark Messier.
We"'ll see what happens with the Avs but I like Joe Sakic as the manager of that group. He knows hockey players when he sees them. - RickJ
The future does look good however that was being said about Edmonton as well. Colorado has to be more consistent before I will call them a powerhouse of a team. Not that long ago they were a disaster |

Saw that after. Thought it was a slash but oh well...I have no issue with this series going seven, if that's how it plays out this evening. - HawkintheD
The only reason i called it a hook because he did a great job of tying up his hands in one quick motion, could've been called either way |

I'd be surprised if Saad did anything "extra" to improve his game. He'd be part of any big package the Hawks may be considering if it were me. Horrible year last year, better this year, but overall disappointing 2 years since his return. He'd be a nice fit in Vegas for a couple of those hi-energy guys they need to move......Tuch ?? - Hawkytalk
He's right about where he was points and goals wise before he got traded so I'm not sure what you're looking for out of him. |

Could of called interference on the play as well, but Eddie says nothing about it |

mck at age 23 with 2 consect almost 100 pt seasons...i agree he has arrived. he can carry a team but he will need more help...i don't like landeskog and they need they need to get deeper and better with that bottom nine...if that happens...yes...the aves can put on a multi year run like the hawks did....

We want to win now right?
Sign Calgary's Matthew Tkachuk on June 1st...you decide the best player available in the draft prior to June 1st.. You give up the picks because they are not luck wise gonna be #3 and if the top pick and Tkachuk and the young nucleus and Kane and Toews are going to a team that except for maybe the first year of the lost draft pick, going to be a playoff contender.
Of course, Matthew Tkachuk has got to want us.
If he doesn't, ask Mikko Rantanen,(maybe pipe dream, ya think?) if he is locked in,
go down the list from there: Kyle Connor RFA sheet, if no, shift to Philly's Ivan Provorov a LD, if not leaving,
take it down to Colton Scissons.
But dont be afraid of the RFA
Nathan MacKinnon: in his draft year we were fooled that linemate Drouin was part of the reason for his success.
Now we see who was driving their success... |

How about that, sometimes i feel like I'm watching the NBA, the embellishment call on Orlov was crap, the non call on Forsberg high stick? How many PPs are they going to give the Preds, although the elbow was the right call - BetweenTheDots
The non-call on the high stick was a follow thru, which the ref apparently signaled while play continued. |

I suspect this has been brought up...but GM's going after other teams RFA's are rare, it's like they have some unspoken agreement don't touch my guys...

Wiz, very bold proposals on RFA signings. Don't have any comments right now besides not having Sissons on that particular list. I like Sissons as a 4th line option but would never offer sheet him. Not worth offer sheeting a 4th liner when they can be obtained for a ton less.
On your comment about MacKinnon's success not tied to Drouin, I think that is true. Do wonder, though, if his success was hindered by Duchene in any way. MacKinnon took off like a rocket to the moon after Duchene was traded. |

If your going the offer sheet route, there is also Kapanen and Johansson of which Toronto won t be able to afford. |

What a joke call a penalty with 2 minutes left in the game for the team that's down a game in the series |

the real issue to me was the sell on that penalty....it should been an even out for the drama pratfall.

Trashville gets a gift on a bull poop call and nothing. Seriously they are getting all the calls. O-14 on the PP in the series. NHL Officiating at its best... |

For the last four seasons he has has a a 53% face-off %.
He starts next year at 25 years old.
200 pounder.
I am nt talking about breaking the bank as much as recognizing what the Chicago team needs and using the RFA offer sheet, even if Nashville matches you have successful managed to mess with the Pred's Cap. |

Although I'm generally not a fan of offer sheets, Kapanen and Johnsson are two players that would be worth pursuing. |

yep...it was incidental at best, the puck was no where near the player "tripped"...with all the non calls you can't make that call with less 2 minutes in a tied game...

Good ideas on Sissons, even if to mess with the Predators. Didn't the Sharks sort of do that with the Hjalmarsson offer sheet which forced the Hawks to let go of Niemi in order to retain Hammer?
I've always liked how Sissons plays. A line with him, Kampf, and Caggiula would be killer. Move Kampf to wing with Sissons taking draws. Or a line with Sissons centering Caggiula and Tanev? Even more killer. |
