Also will be interesting to see how Vegas handles RFA Karlsson. - LAHawk
He would be the guy I would try to poach. |

Really low 6 figures is my guess. Maybe between 100-200K? Could be just a way for Versteeg to maybe latch on in the NHL for the vet min. Show he is healthy and still has something to bring to a team? Think he might be able to make a bit more in Europe. - Elbows15
I’d guess they’ll pay him a bit more, around $275,000 |

Karlsson would be a great add, Stan would need to shuffle around some pieces to make long term cap room (ie Anisimov). |

He is making $5.2 mil. on a "show me" deal after scoring 41 goals last year, scored 24 this year, more know as a defensive center when he played in Columbus, I don't quite see how he could fit into the Hawks salary structure as a 3C though, but I would love to have him on the Hawks also.

About Karlsson:
He is not as good as he once was due to a band aid held together ankle
He holds a kid from playing time when kids are the future and Karlsson is costing too much anyway
He is bad defensively. We don"t need more of that. I would rather Forsling and Koekkoek

I think he's talking about William Karlsson the center on Vegas - not Erik the d-man on San Jose.

They are not trading Theodore, Schmidt, maybe there is a market for Colin Miller at $3.8 mil, whose left? Merrill is at $1.25 they need to shed way more than that, Engelund will probably sign again (since he is from Vegas for about $1 mil). - LAHawk
Ok, so what would it take from the Blackhawks to make this happen? |

who was in the LIMO? Madden, Kane - who else? - glennjpawlak22
Funny as hell, but I don't remember who else.
Edit - looked it up, it was Versteeg |

Wrong Karlsson. I’m referring to William (aka Wild Bill) not Erik. |

I know everyone saying they won't trade this guy or that guy, well Stone changed all that, they WILL HAVE TO trade solid playerS away, |

Yup, and aren't they exempt from the expansion draft too?

Teuvo did a good job avoiding Wilson, that would of left a mark |

William Karlsson and either McNabb/Miller for hawks 2020 1st and either Dahlstrom/Koekkoek/Forsling. Sign K for 6.5-7, trade AA for a 3rd round pick. K's 1st two years only cost the 2-2.5M after unloading AA.
Vegas gets little salary back and a cheap #6 -7 defenseman.
With Karlsson Hawks should improve their point total next year, possibly make playoffs, so the pick would be in the 15-27 range. That pick might take 3-4 years to see the NHL. In the meantime Hawks have Karlsson .
If this happens before the draft, do the Hawks still go after a C or a W or D?
Edit, Make that 2020 pick lottery protected if the Hawks do not make the playoffs and the lottery lands them in top 3 again

I don't know if they are - BetweenTheDots
Vegas does not have to expose anybody to the Seattle expansion draft and they won't get their share of the millions of the entry fee.

Hamilton keeps playing like he does he's going to lose this game for Carolina, did he forget he's a defenseman |

Stone as well as Pacioretty.
Speaking of Pacioretty, Tatar who Vegas traded to the Habs had a career best season. |

Pretty average? They just ran over the #1 seed in the West. They have the best player still playing in the NHL right now. They have Cale Makar who is about to be a superstar. They have the #4 pick in this year's draft. The guy behind the bench can really coach too. All they have to do is dump Varlamov and find a good replacement.
Would not surprise me if they made the Cup Final this year. They are resting while the other teams are beating the crap out of each other. - RickJ
1. >>>Pretty average? They just ran over the #1 seed in the West.<<< Yes they did but they also loss 18 of 23 earlier in the year; calgary has its problems defensively and did not match up well with aves
2. >>>They have the best player still playing in the NHL right now.<<< emphasis RIGHT NOW...
3. >>>They have Cale Makar who is about to be a superstar.<<< great talent...
4. >>>They have the #4 pick in this year's draft.<<< ok...that is no name potential..
you bring up all the ingredients for them to become a yearly playoff threat but they aren't there now...and they could just as easily lose 4 strt in the next round...
powerhouse? not ready to go there yet... |

I happen to be a huge MacKinnon fan so I'm biased. But tell me who is better than him right now in the West and going forward. It certainly isn't Monahan or Kopitar or Johannson or Couture. Maybe Scheiffle. McDavid is his equal with nobody to play with other than Draisatl.
Wayne Gretzky says he is a hybrid of Gordie Howe and Mark Messier.
We"'ll see what happens with the Avs but I like Joe Sakic as the manager of that group. He knows hockey players when he sees them. |

Saw that after. Thought it was a slash but oh well...I have no issue with this series going seven, if that's how it plays out this evening. |
