SCH has the goods on what to do with Seab...

https://www.secondcityhoc...-contract-reports-updates

unless they find away to dump and trade; ole seab will continue to get paid for what he did; not what he is doing now...and my guess is stanbow knew it and did it anyway

Just read the Nashville post mortem on The Athletic. They’re probably going to have to move D to bolster their scoring.

How about DeBrincat (21, 800k next year, RFA after that) +
for Josi (28, $4M next year, UFA after that) +

Why are we willing to give up a very good player, maybe Gusto and Perlini otherwise they can fo (frank) themselves

Where are all my Russian haters at??

The Blackhawks are among the final three NHL teams trying to sign Russian right wing Ilya Mikheyev.

Maybe we do go have Pods this draft then..

Kurashev confirmed to play for Swiss team at the World Championships.
- AEL_Fox

The exoerience at Worlds Tournamrnt puts him one step closer to NHL

I welcome Kurashev and Hagel to third line and would be curuous if Highmore or R Johnson could handle centet position on annall rookie line.Their style just energizes the team. Maybe one year awsy ftom NHL

Kampf with one banger and somrone like Tanev on fourth
Thr #3 pock innone year starts onnone of top two svoring lines. After one year we should ecpect Gilbert replaces Seabrook. Carlsdon, Mitchell, Beaudin should each be able to play NHL by then. Jokiharju with second full year. This is your future Blackhawks.

The only problem i have is figuring out what happens with goaltender position. Delia\Laakinen backnuonto an NHL veteran is a one year temporary fix. Delia really NHL material. We need to find.out about Laakinen too

Can't remember if you were the one who suggested this but I agree with whoever suggested Dumoulin in prior blogs ($4.1M through 2022-23).

Yeah I think Dumoulin fits perfectly for the Hawks, and not expensive especially for a top 4.

I like Josi and DeBrincat will be expensive after next year but he'll only be 23 and likely still a Hawk. Josi will be looking for his big pay as a 30 yo UFA, so I hope the Hawks wouldn't seriously consider that.

No way. I have a feeling Bowman will do everything he can to keep "duos" aka Brinky and Strome on the same roster for the next 5+ years.
Without Brinky, I don't think Strome evolves into the high end #2C he's currently headed towards...

I also don't see us dealing anything of quality to Trashville...
Hartman was one story (when we knew we wouldn't pay him) but ADB, no way

Kurashev seems to be a leading dark horse by many to challenge for a roster spot this fall. Conservatively, I would think both he and Hagel spend a full season in the AHL first then go from there. I do see them as potential fixtures in the middle 6. Same with Entwistle.

Similar situation for R Johnson but as a 4th line center. Great in faceoffs, gritty, physical.

Highmore is furthest along and is a candidate for the 4th line or 13th forward. Speedy, relentless, sound 200 foot game. Most likely a winger but can play center.

Yeah, no dice on the Josi for Cat deal. They're not gonna pay huge money on a long-term deal to a 30 year old guy. If he goes that soon, you'd lose a high-end scorer in his prime for a year of Josi. I'm all for a bridge defender until a kid or two arrives, but not at the cost of the Cat. No (frank)ing way.

No revelation. The conversation is, do we want whomever they want to move. Probably not. Probably no better than what is in our stable. Not a worthy top four may be on market or even negotiated for. Whom would we be willing to trade to get the hypothetical #4dman? Saad? A rebuilding team should not trade a future #1 for a barely adequate #4. Just take our lumps. The new system and progress among prospects might not be so bad after all said and done.

Why would Penguins let him go. They aren't dumb; they move other players instead

If they both could lose tonight, I'd love it.

I hate Babcock and would love to see the Canadian media melt down with the Leafs out.....however, I also can't stand anything Boston...tough call. I am pulling for San Jose in the late game.

I kind of want the NYI vs Leafs East finals, so the fans on Long Island can torment JT as that would make for great TV. That's assuming the Leafs could get past the Blue Jackets and with that D on Toronto, I am not sure that will happen.

- SteveRain

This a thousand times over. The Islanders crowd would go bananas every time he touched the puck.

Agreed. They’ll most like shop Maata or Johnson - but who in their right mind would take Johnson? If only Peter Chiarelli was still a GM somewhere...

I am a Hawk fan in Canada, what do you think???

Now, leaf fans are not nearly as insufferable as the HaplessHab crowd....but they have been closing the gap on that.

No....there is no doubt. Go Bruins!!!!!

Must be bad up there. At least Montreal has the past to showcase. SC fever can be a cruel illness. No such suffering in downstate Indiana. Go Hawks!

Chris Peters:

Talking with head coach John Wroblewski after the game. As much as he's seen Caufield score, he said he was surprised to see Kessel's record fall at this tournament. Also noted that Matthew Boldy impacts the game in much the same way Marian Hossa did from the wing.

Would love to see the Hawks pick up another 1st somehow and draft him. He is gonna be a good one
