I'd say its easier to find size and skill anywhere, trade/FA, than finding the wizardry and quickness Hughes has.

It'd be a mistake to pass on Hughes to take Kakko, and luckily it seems like Ray knows this. You can't pass on the most electrifying player in the draft with a huge ceiling just to fill a need, Jack is our guy

Oh yeah for sure, im sure rumors leading up to and especially on draft day will be crazy. I remember all the rumors about up potentially moving the pick in 2017 and it was nerve-wracking to follow. Now to think of the hype around Hughes and his potential ceiling, especially compared to Nico/Nolan that year, its gonna be worse to follow all the way up until we actually get on stage and make the selection lol

Comes down to one thing...Hughes has potential to sell a ton of jerseys and alot of tickets at Prudential Center...nothing is a given with any player in any sport when drafting them, but no GM would want to be the guy who passed on Hughes..this is hardly Nico-Nolan part 2!

I’d agree with you. The question is does Ray Shero and the Devil’s Scouting Department? I feel like anything could happen here. Ray has the balls to do whatever he thinks is best. That certainly could be Hughes.
