Best case scenario: They don't match and we get Mitch Marner.
Worst case Scenario: We made sure the Leafs don't get any sort of discount on him.
I feel it's still worth it. - Scabeh
You could really mess things up for them by offering Kapanen 4 million too, and if they dont match, you get Kapanen for a 2nd round pick |

You think so? They're a one line team with suspect goaltending. Things could go south real quick if Smith isn't playing like a Vezina winner from the first two games. - AdamFrench
not sure I follow the "Calgary is a one line team" logic......they have 70pt players on the 2nd line. they have a very strong top six.
if you're going to argue that one of these 2 teams is a 'one line team' it's very clearly Colorado.
I would say, of all the teams who are currently down in their series, Cgy is probably the most likely to turn it around, followed closely by Boston. |

I'm not a huge Kapanen fan.
I'd rather sign Johnsson if we're gonna target a "lesser" Leafs rfa. |

I don't care how many Juulsen's I need to give them. - Scabeh
Marner is getting 12 million......meaning you guys would have over 30 million invested in 3 guys, and no first round picks for the next 4 years.
Marner is an incredible player, but you guys would be beyond (frank)ed if that ended up happening. |

56 shots against in a 1-1 series is appalling. |

Boston and Toronto would save everyone a lot of time if they just skipped right to game 7 in Boston. there's no chance that series is ending any other way.
you could be right about the Flames but they're starting to run out of time to get into gear. |

up 2-0, Carolina at home in a do-or-die... it was kind of inevitable. those teams were only separated by a couple of points in the regular season. it's a fairly even matchup. |

Well I knew the canes wouldn't go out easily, but still, a 5-0 win is pretty impressive... The caps definitely have the most talent "on paper", for what that's worth |

Hurricanes will be without Ferland and Svech. Could be the difference maker. They don't have too much depth at forward. |

I'd take Kapanen... younger, bigger, right handed shot and he's got more bite to his game... to each his own I suppose Scab! |
