One would think that Fletch discussed his plan for the team.
The flyers have a lot of young players and upcoming prospects so I’m sure having a good handle on the young players was a topic of discussion.
Unless Fletch trades all the young guys and prospects over the summer then I’ll wait and see what happens.
On the other hand in typical Philly fashion you can assume the worst and look for a bridge to jump off of.
It’s not like we elected Hillary or anything. |

Scott Sandelin must have turned Fletcher down immediately after being asked. |

I think the perception of AV being bad with younger players is overblown. |

So am I the only one wondering why Ek never mentioned Vigneault in his rumours? I would have thought he had multiple sources in Philly and would have at least heard whispers that he was being considered/interviewed. I guess it must have been super secret! |

what are allll these other better choices out there? the first thing is, if a coach is available, they failed at their last job so gotta keep that in mind. so out of all the "failures" out there, who else would be better?
Unfortunately going for an inexperienced coach just kinda wasted 4 years for us so they weren't going down that route, so that excluded Keefe. And guys like Boudreau, Yeo, Sutter (retired i believe), Therrien, Hitchcock (retread) and DJ Smith are the main coaches out there that come to mind. AV is more accomplished than all of them, and I love how Fletcher didnt waste any time. Now they can prepare for the draft and the off season with almost not wasting any time.

Don't worry, you'll have Tanner Glass signed soon enough - eichiefs9
On a serious note, good luck with AV. He might actually work out. Look at his resume and you should realize that blasting the signing immediately is a little premature. He might do some good. He definitely wore out his welcome in NY but he still had some legit success here, not even the most cynical fans (me) can deny that. |

Not sure what the flyers management is thinking with this one? As a Rangers fan, thought he was a great guy, but, wow, he had a very short leash with the young guys. Players can't get better watching from the box. good luck w/that. |

Yes, because spelling has a direct correlation to being a fan. I still can't remember if it's Broduer or Brodeur? I guess I'm not a big fan either?
- Crushers68
Being a fan means you watch the games, watching the games means you see the spelling of the players and coach's name on a regular basis. If you don't know Scott Gordon is your coach or Claude Giroux is your captain or Shayne Gostisbehere is the ghost bear, than how big of a fan really are you? Means you either aren't watching as much, or aren't paying attention.
Either way, its pathetic you dont know how to spell brodeur if you're actually a devils fan, in all honesty. I know when I go to work i don't know how to spell my bosses name after working there for 3 years, totally normal, common thing |

Yep, like I said, they are not here to drink beer around the campfire in the offseason singing koombayah, they are professional athletes making millions with a clear expectation for success on the part of ownership and the fans. Just win it all, and then what normally happens will happen, it will erode and people get traded, hurt or fired. Just Win. |

Most Red Wings fans still can't spell Fedorov correctly and he's in the HHOF. |

Totally agree. I'm a Wings fan. Always laughed when someone would claim to be a die hard fan of Federov and Lindstrom. Yeah if you can't spell the name of a couple of hall-of-famers then your opinion is nearly worthless to me.

I spell you, u, i spell though, tho, i take a lot of shortcuts obviously, just like everyone does. This isn't about spelling, i mean, not the high level argument. The fact people dont know how to spell their teams players after seeing them over and over again, or claiming to be a fan, just makes me question their fandom even more. and again, being a fan of the game of hockey, has made me see these names over and over and over again. like Vlad Konstantinov, or Darius Kasparaitis, or Ron Tugnutt (haha)
just doesn't make sense to me more so than i have an issue with just the plain spelling, its part of a bigger issue if ya ask me (not being as big a fan as they think) |

I mean, cant spell Lidstrom??? may be the best defender, or 2nd best, of all time. I think its not only disrespectful, but a clear sign a fan isn't as big a fan as they claim.
