I am pretty un impressed.
This means that "the powers that be" have decided to go in for the next two to three years. That means that any prospects will sit in favor of any vet.
I had no faith in Fletcher as a hire and now, I have even less. This is going to be a disaster. - wbon22
Check out our roster bro, we barely have any vets anymore. head coaching decisions aren't done all willy nilly. as soon as Q went to Florida last week Philly asked the rangers for permission to speak with AV. The roster is pretty clearly having a youth movement happening. Neither AV not Fletch would enter into this coaching decision if they both weren't on the same page that this is what this flyers team as constructed will be.
calm down, have some faith, wait until at least the second or third week of July to cast any doubts. |

So I am guessing the Flyers will be trying to sign a couple veteran goalies to 5 or 6 year contracts to give that "young guy" some time to develop? Maybe they can trade him to LA for Quick! |

Once the Buzztron is adjusted for the coaching change the Philly results should be refreshed to finish next year at 81-0-0.
Also, I wonder why none of Ek's sources tipped him off on this? I mean, it's the Flyers! - uofcguy
because AV to the flyers was so comical Ek wouldn't even report it |

AV uses the 4th line as a "dog house". He'll have young guys skilled guys who make mistakes playing there with grizzled checking/fighter vets - rrentz
Buch played on 4th line with Mcloud for Christ sakes..lol |

This didn't go over too well when Hakstol did it. |

I see no problem with the concept of punishing/correcting poor play by reducing the player's TOI. There's such a thing as overdoing that of course. Vigneault seems to do it to an extent which results in 100+ point seasons and Stanley Cup Finals appearances.

you make it sound like a bad thing. I dont care how skilled you are if you arent carrying your weight, you should be punished. A bunch of these guys should have been down there at the start of the season. Ghost should have been on the bench for most the season. There were times in October where Lehtera and Weise looked like the best players on the team. |

He never did, at least not to the teams top players. It just seemed like there were guys he liked and guys he didnt. Voracek and Ghost in October should have been in the dog house but never were |

Sit him down on bench if he's sucking or put him in the press box. No good gonna come by using a 4th line as a garbage dump. Best teams utilize their 4th line. That's all I'm saying |

This was a methodical and well thought out hire. Just like everything the flyers do - Just5
Hiring a coach with Vigneualt's record of success. Its absolutely a well thought out hire. What do you think Fletcher has been doing, sitting around and waiting to interview someone before thinking he would be a good choice? Seems your post wasn't well thought out.

And with that announcement I terminate my 39 year relationship as a Flyers fan, he is awful with young players, should have stuck with Hextall as GM, and Gorton as coach, this is going to blow up in their faces....... - timkam27

Anyone who claims theyre a fan for 39 years and cant even spell the head coach's (ex-head coach) last name correctly, prob not that big of a fan - sjk540
Yes, because spelling has a direct correlation to being a fan. I still can't remember if it's Broduer or Brodeur? I guess I'm not a big fan either?

It’s actually spelled brodeur’s ex-wife’s brother’s wife |

Guy had two hall of fame goalies and still couldn’t get the job done
How often as a coach do you get that? |
