We have to respect churches now?
- TheMussel

I do. Even though I don't subscribe to Christianity, I have respect for those who do.

Everyone is so sensitive, its a joke, and not meant to be a lack of respect, more a play upon Kadri's rage then anything.

I don't know what to tell you. "Good one"? Everything is not meant to be a joke.

More I just have respect for the historical relivance of the place, it is one of the wonders out there. But yeah can still respect for a lot the religious significance is very important too.

Tbh it wasn’t that bad, but also wasn’t funny..

This is what I don’t get about some comedians these days like Rogan who are always crying about the limiting of speech etc.. but if you have to resort to making fun of people’s misery, or doing rape jokes, you’re in the wrong business. Comedy is so easy, and it’s easy to find humor in thing that aren’t tragic. I challenge people to try a little harder, that’s all.

Babcock isn't getting paid nearly enough to face a $5,000 fine and telling it like it is.

How did that thing survive world war II? Serious question and something I should probably know.

Was it because France fell relatively quickly and wasn't bombed like London was?

- RickJames77

Paris was never bombed. They had the vast majority of their troops on the Maginot line and the Germans coming through Belgium swept past them and took Paris while they had their pants down.

Some churches, regardless of ideology, carry such a historic significance that make them the symbol they are. It's not just about religion, it's about history and that was a symbol of architectural achievement and the furthering of society/civilization. It really is sad to see something like that disappear in a day after standing for something like 800 years. Lost in this is the fact that it took 200 years to build (I believe). How many generations was that back in the 13th century? Like 6? 6 generations of people collectively working toward a single goal and achieving it. That is crazy.

See my post above. Also, big stretch going from a building fire to rape... Anyway sorry if I offended you, it was not meant to. Also, it depends on your brand of humor. There are a lot of things said on here that are not funny, but posted.....just a message board.

Political correctness is killing comedy. When Seinfeld is running into problems for jokes it's just about over. The 'comedians of the world' on Netflix where everyone is scared to be political incorrect is the worst garbage I've seen.

Well I know that. The Maginot line wasn't completed because they thought the Ardennes Forest was a good enough natural barrier. Wrong.

Anyways, I didn't know Paris wasn't bombed, but I sort of assumed it. That's why I posited it was left unscathed because France fell so quickly it wasn't bombed like London were people had to hide in the tube.

does it help to say it publicly?

Do the refs care? Does the NHL care?, I mean they will fine him but do they care that the losing team coach yells about the refs?

It's very subjective and very tricky.

For instance I love Jimmy Carr. He says some of the most awful things. But it's hilarious. But it's awful. And I know I'm a bad person for laughing. But it's hilarious. And awful.

To be fair though, the people who built it were little better than indentured servants. The people at the top who had the coin to build it weren't doing it for altruistic reasons, either. It really isn't the symbol you think it is.

It's insanity.

It is sad that there will be a lot more focus on Notre Dame than that, though. I always cringed when I would hear the most recent thing ISIS destroyed.
