So here's a provocative question:

What do you do with the space in Paris now?

Leave the burnt-out hulk as a monument? I"m guessing no.

Museum that highlights the foundations? I'm guessing yes.

Brand new church? Also guessing no.

One thing is for sure - it's gonna be a very emotional debate.

There's some neat examples of "open air" churches in England - where they leave the walls but don't rebuild. One's in downtown London - can't remember the name.

The renovation work that was happening is the likely cause.

Just remembering:

We took the kids there last summer. Huge franking line-up, so we just took pictures outside and bolted.

I honest to god remember thinking: we'll just do it next time we are in Paris.

Beautiful building for sure and agreed it was architectural marvel. It sucks that its burning.
But its building..no one died (that I've heard) , if someone cracks a minor joke about it, no need to freak out.
