To trade Sutter? Let's hope so. His value is as low as it's ever been right now though.
- Nucker101

Yes & no. Buffalo can use him & a few other teams. Trade value is hard to determine & any GM would lowball JB given Sutters injuries. Imo there is interest in him.

Benning said they would have made the playoffs with a healthy Sutter

I really hope he just gets nervous in front of cameras/mics and says stupid poop by mistake, because if he truly believes that then he's more delusional than even the homers in this city

I don't get the Beagle is "solid" take either. His stat line was terrible and he wasn't noticeable enough for an "energy" player.

I'm sure he's great in the locker room, but his on-ice play did not live up to his contract.

Love Roussel though, that guy was fun to watch and was noticeable most games

- Nucker101

Roussel was a nice surprise, agree. Beagle is brutal at hockey lol, not a fan.

Not too many GM’s will tell the media he’s stupid, shouldn’t have done that one

The best part about Higgins was that his brother posts on HF, he brother said that even Higgins himself was surprised that he was getting top 6 minutes and PP time

That's funny....but sad.

Give Beagle Roussel & Motte for a full season & he is much better as a 4C.

Beagle is a waste of cap money no matter where he plays.

Turns 34 next year, I don't think he has anywhere to go but down. He played a lot with Motte already actually. But he was stuck with LE a lot too so perhaps he will improve if given a player like Leivo and ZMac on his wing instead.

I know he keeps himself in great shape but so did the Sedins, Father Time is undefeated for a reason.

I have said a few times he should not be allowed around a mic.

Only a waste when it matters. That’s not next season but its getting nearer. Options are around at the TDL

You just lump yourself in with the posters that think he's overpaid.

Give him a full 82 games on a better roster and we'll see...

either that or show us your cup ring...

I’ll show you my cup ring to back up my opinion if you show me yours to back your opinion, beyond that STFU with your childish cup ring antics.

On our UFA signings i prefer to look at capriendly year by year to see who is around. Project our team accordingly.

Going backwards...

Year 2021 of the e-draft Beagle is in his last year so will be exposed. There is a massive ton of cap space to be used from now til then. How it will be spent or weaponized will define our rebuild & if we succeed or go into the Oiler mess. Short term ufa signings at most are crucial. By then 3 drafts will have passed & add to that current prospects in the pipeline will have been developed. Now is anyone in the system going to be impactful is the big question? Will any new draftees be legit top 6F or top 4D? Possible is uo to JB & if he lasts that long.

Year 2020 is the year we make big waves. Again JB has much work to do & if successful we look good. Big IF.

2019 is crucial as it’s in the immediate future & sets us up for those following years. Savvy trades are necessary. We cannot afford to be impatient & need the Linds etc to take it to the next level. D is the obvious immediate problem & scoring is an achilles heal. This year leads to the next year & so on & has JB on the hot seat from game 1 & beyond. Utica has to show it’s developing kids & anything else is a fail.

JT Miller might be a nice compliment to Horvat. Play making winger.

Interesting.
- Reubenkincade

I think he has the potential to change that series. Their defence is not very good at rushing the puck or setting up i th O zone.

It's the main reason we have changed our minds about looking at property on the island.
- Reubenkincade

It's changed a lot here over the last 2-3 years. The Lulu Lemon/Mountain Equipment Co-op crowd from Vancouver in their Porsche Cayennes or Land Rovers, doesn't help much either

Skipped the author's take, but looked at the summary of moves.

His UFA work was solid. His drafting was ugly. His trades started off pretty decently and then got progressively worse and worse to thee point where he was paying premium prices for washed up vets.

I'd say that's a fair take, no?

- Nucker101

We need legit top 6 wingers not projects or hopefuls. Draft them is needed. Other than a Panarin there is not much out there. Lee is my next best but likely resigns in NYI him being an American. RHD is an abyss with only Woo on the list.

This draft is not deep & after the top 2 we need some luck to get an impact player. Next draft is looking very deep but no help now & too early to look ahead to.

Trades are needed sooner than later & the cap utilized & not wasted. Weaponizing it a hard thing to figure out as how to do it.

I wanted Ehlers over JV but his $6m per sure looks horrible now. Rather have JV.
