I think Thompson stays (or comparable vet is signed) to play most games as 4th line center, that can shut down and pkill. CJ doe snot like young guys, rookies there.
- Mashadar

No need for Thompson if Weal is kept, though. I think he was even better on face offs and is faster.

Domi just had over 70 points playing C. Where did he go in this depth chart?

On the wing, his natural position.

To the wing, where he has produced less? To put guys in the C slot who either haven't done it or haven't done it at a high level? Great idea. After years of trying the Habs finally find a player who can score in the C position and fans already want to push him out to the wing. You can't make this stuff up

It's a very good point for sure but I dont think it's that far fetched that Domi ends up back on the wing... and if it does happen, its probably because some or all of their young promising C pan out, which wouldn't be a bad thing

How do we know it's really his? Pete is the only one who's ever seen it live.

If once on the ice they make that determination I'm fine with it but I find planning it at this stage with what we've seen to be asinine. Not sure about everybody else but I've watched a lot of weak play, specifically on the offensive side, in the C slot for a long time in Montreal and Domi was essentially what they've been looking for. Bird in the hand is worth two in the bush

I agree... and as I said, it wouldn't be until later on down the road, gotta see what Kotkaniemi and Poehling can do on a regular basis... Guys in here have now convinced me that Suzuki will be a RW and that's fine too, it would be a nice change if they had so many good players, trying to figure out where they all fit in, wont hear any complaints out of me!

That is the popular opinion no doubt, and probably the right one too... but if the kid puts in the work over the next 6 months, he could force their hand... and honestly, there would be nothing wrong with him starting out in Laval

There's going to a real battle between between him, Poehling and Jake Evans. Depends if they resign Weal

Depends on a few things, MB will trade for a D and who knows who will be going the other way

But yes, Evans should be given a look for sure, I really like his game

I'm pretty sure Bergy and CJ like him ALOT.

And to his defense he did well and fit right in

You know Bergevin will sign at least 5 guys for the 13th forward spot.

5 more for the 7th D spot.
