Karine Hains: When your Leaders Step up! Now that every game is a must win, there's no time for late starts or passengers and tonight could have went horribly wrong had it not been for 3 intense leaders.

Of course they step up, Karine. Do you expect any different? Even Drouin carried Tampa to the ECF a few years ago with stamkos injured. Shaw and Gallagher will be playoff super beasts. That’s their style. Oh and don’t forget there’s a couple things called Shea Weber and Carey Price.

I want the Tampa Bay Lightning. I bet job cooper and his boys don’t want Montreal. We can win this Karine. We can

Despite the horrendous giveaways, Drouin is still young. As much as he'd step up a la Domi, his defensive errors are pretty bad. Maybe part of it is the pressure of being, "The great Franco-Canadiens" player is weighing hard on him, akin to the pressure he felt as the heir apparent to Stamkos. Even though Tania Bay is hardly the French backbone, I bet he still felt the pressure from Quebec media to be that French saviour, especially since Florida is a big hotspot for Canadian Snowbirds. He may well strive better in a non hockey market, unlike Dimi, who had a special relationship with crazed fam mania in Toronto while watching the Leafs. . However, unless he totally collapses altogether, he should have until at least 25 to up his game. He's trying to do it all himself, and that leads to bad turnovers and over-thought scoring plays.

Unless MB signs/trades for a replacement with an equal skill set based on his potential, he's worth keeping on board for now.

Regarding Drouin.... it is like he is always thinking «offense» in his head. It must be hard for Julien to withstand, because about every other player is concerned with defense, as it should be this time of the year. Everyone can says «hay, i'll save some energy and skate one way on the ice. If he would get points when needed badly or if he was the best offensive stats of the team, this would be forgiveable, but at the actual rate, one would hope one day he will get better (either he explodes, or either he does like the rest), because at a certain point the anger will come from his teammates. It seems the problem is that no-one has the «authority» or «wisdom» (like for instance Tie Domi) to make him understand the situation and he will always find a guy that wants to be «his friend» and tells his ego he's the best player from Quebec or something...most peoeple around him don't want to rush him because if ever he can't find a place to be where he is never critized where-ever he wanders off-ice, he will end up asking for a trade.

Oh I'd keep him too, the mistakes are numerous and annoying but when he pulls out a genius offensive play all is forgiven for me until next time. FrenchCanadian pressure or not, this is his best season and he's not reached his ceiling yet, people need to keep the faith

I'm sorry, the new NHL is not a 'patience' business.
MB was patient with Galchenyuk for 6 years, until he finally realized Chucky is as dumb as a doorknob. Looks to me Drouin isn't much more smarter. How many years should MB wait exactly? until Drouin is 25? 27?
If they can get fair value I say beubye.

Drouin devrait être en laisse. Je pense que c'est ce que le coach fait.

Quant à Shaw, il doit faire ses preuves en séries éliminatoires.

Everybody keeps saying that but when you look at his career stats, this year is a copy-paste of 2016-2017 in terms of goals and assists. That said, I doubt there is a deal to be made somewhere for equal production and similar age. I expect Drouin to stay in Montreal for the long-term for the reasons you mentioned.

I can't believe anyone was expecting drouin to be anything other than a skilled, one-dimensional winger who isn't very physical.

Hello. Indeed, he's exactly what he is, and what he will ever be. 50-60 points.
